I CAN'T BELIEVE IT'S....
Christmas day!!!!
Now how and the heck did that happen? I didn't here reindeers nor Santa or anyone...just the pitter patter of rain dripping from my roof!!!
Today is going to be a mostly fun filled day with lots of family and friends being stuffed to the gills and we get to sit back and have this smirk on our faces knowing we do not have to be in their shoes!
My day is starting off early with the traditional Christmas breakfast with mommy at my house....boys always want their mommies breakfast on the holidays...now I get to share it with my grandbabies too! Then later in the day it will be off to my oldest son's house for an off the wall dinner...there are 4 of us who are wls people.
Yesterday at my house....James, Sandy and I were multi-tasking in my kitchen...we had a ravioli extraganza going....my son requested that I make some type of sweet ravioli...not like sugary....but I did make butternut squash ravioli's and I have to tell you...purely experimental, but I hit the mark...they are OMG good!!! I made some extra for Jeff's dinner last night and I broke down and ate one. I topped it with browned butter with sage and a little shave parmasean...OMG!! Was a true treat for me! It was really cool working in the kitchen with the kids....I want to make sure that I pass the tradition on to my family as there is going to come a time when mommy can no longer do these things....as it is...my son rolls the pasta for me because it is just too much for me at times with my hands. He even had his wife stuff some of the ravioli's...she was saying I do not have the Italian gene....we will teach her right?
We also made cookies and fudge...ewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww but that is another tradition in my house especially with the fudge...right Rhonda???LOL! One of Rhonda's sons was in fudge heaven!
Well as the day moves a long gang....remember the best gift you have received is the gift of wls and the friends you have made here!
Merry Christmas....now lets get on with this crazy day!!!

Merry Christmas one and all............
Today, I work, but its a short day for me, so I get off at 3:30. My sister Dana is making dinner at her house, so I head over there after I came home and pick up the ham I was told to cook. Its going to be a good day. First time the family is together on a holiday since dad pasted. Sad it took DD getting sick to get us together. I think I will go back to having a family dinner once a month like I use to do. I always enjoyed doing that and miss seeing everyone once a month.
I wish you all a great day. Love your family and friends, for tomorrow is not promised. Sad, yes I know, but true.
Love ya all............................
Lusty Lu, and DD too.
How fun is it to have a lil one in the house for Christmas. Of course Jordyn is not getting it. She has been worked on unwrapping her Christmas Eve gift all day yesterday and it is still not finished. I guess I should have stopped fussing about all the paper she has been ripping because now she is a bit skiddish about it. Our traditions start on Christmas eve with the watching of the Grinch who stole Christmas cartoon. We almost had a tragedy because I had taped it on the DVR and yesterday morning after working out I discovered that the DVR had went out. The cable guy came and switched it but of course I loos everything I had taped so he was nice enough to hook up the vcr for me.
We have a traditional Christmas breakfast with my moms fried apple (awesome applesauce) and her homemade biscuits. My mom loves applewood amoked bacon so I bought her some and its hiding in the fridge. The rest of the day will be lazy and then a nice WLS dinner of pork roast, apples and green bean.
Everyone have a blessed Christmas
Monica and Jordyn

Last night was a blast. I opened my home to my neighbors to come and eat dinner and everything turned out just great. OUr next door neighbor is home bound so I took a plate of food over to her on a real plate and a glass of wine in a real glass. She was so exited about that! Even sent real napkins and silverware! I got to spend a bit of time with her before having to run home to great more guests. She has cancer and has broken her leg and her hip and two ribs, so she is pretty much home bound. Earlier in the day the kids took cookies to our local fire fighters to thank them for all the work they do to protect our community. The firemen got a big kick out of it, but not as much as the kids did when they got to go on the fire truck! It was great. This morning we all got up about 6 a.m. (slept in a bit) to find that Santa had come! Wow it was wonderful! They could not wait to open the gifts from their aunt Janine and they were wonderful! Sara just loved Hellow kitty, Lexie said these are my favorites (She loves the book are you my mother) and Pookie about fainted when she saw the princess book!. Sean jumped up and down about the books he got. JJ loved the puzzles and animals and of course Mike loves cold hard cash! lol. So Auntie Janine is now the favorit e of everyone! THe little ones surprized me and knew exactly what to do with the gifts and how to rip them open. It was hilarious. After presents I made homeade cinnomon rolls for everyone. They ate them all. Now I have to clean up and prepare for the next round of guest for dinner tonight. I hope you all are having a wonderful Christmas, this one has been one of the best for me.
Take care
Rhonda
I am sitting her enjoying my quite time as my lil man is still asleep. He is a night owl and sleeps in, I like it that way. Holiday's are bitter sweet for me. I love to watch lil man enjoy openning his presents and wish I could spend the day with him, but he will be off to his daddys for the majority of the day. Sucks but it is what it is. So, once he is off with daddy, I will head over to my moms and we are going to do our 6 mile run today.
Hope everyone has a great day!

We celebrate on the Eve, so I got off work at noon, then prepared a rib roast feast. Dad and his gal-pal came at 3 and we gabbed and drank tea and coffee. Dinner. She brought a trifle which was rum saturated. I had a headache this morning...probably too much caffeine and not enough water.
DH is laughing over his 5th viewing of "Christmas Story", now where Santa kicks poor Ralphy down the slide with his boot. HOOO HOOO HOOOO!
Today is stay at home day. I make individual pizzas for the family. DS is opening his santa stocking now. Off to the water cooler. :)
:)
