Kind of Bummed..
Well I want to start playing tennis for more exercise. Problem is..my husband doesn't have the time to play with me. What are my options because I can't really play tennis by myself. Any other sports that are similar that I can play by myself? I am just kind of bummed out because I wanted to start playing tennis but now it is back on hold. When he had time to play, i was never in the "mood" to play because i was so overweight. And now that I want to play, I can't...
Tricia,
You have lots of options. CAll a friend, post a sign at your local tennis place, take a class at your local park, put an ad on line craigs list, put a flyer up at your local market. You will be able to find a partner. In the meantime there are many things you can do for exercise. Take a walk. If you have kids walk them to school everyday and pick them up. Walk to the market. If you work walk during your lunch hour. You can get up early and turn on the tv to an exercise show and work out with them. You can rent an exercise video from your local library and work out. There are so many things you can do alone. One you start getting into it, I am sure your husband will find some time to join in with you. Good luck to you and know you are not alone. You go get em girl.

Tricia, Rhonda is so right there are soooo many things one can do alone. If it is tennis you have your heart set on, check the YMCA, local tennis clubs, as around at WLS support groups. Take a friend that wants to learn and teach them...the possibilities are endless. Good luck and Please hang in there.

When it comes to exercise....you dont need to wait around for someone to join you...you just do it!!! Albeit you cannot play tennis alone...what about raquetball....I love that more than any game of tennis and it can be an intense workout!
