I just got back from the Hospital where I got my Upper GI test done, Yuck ! But I am doing well with my pre-op testing. I have done my Chest X-ray, My Physical, My Dietitian evaluation, and now my GI, all I have left is a Stress Test, and a Psychological Evaluation. We will have to see about the last one, mama always said I was a little nuts. However, it is all worth it, when you consider the end results.   Have A Great Day Doc

Hey Doc that's good news. Pretty soon you'll be having your surgery. I have a few things left. Psych, nutritionist one on one with 2 wks of food and activity logs and an ultrasound to see if I have any blood clots in my legs. So who's doing your surgery? I'm sure glad all this pre-op testing is almost done. Good luck on your next pre-op's.

I was going to have William Fuller, do it when I was going to have the RNY, In fact I had My Upper GI done this Am at UC Davis. But I have opted for a DS, and I am going to have Dr. Paul Cirangle, from San Francisco do my surgery.

I hope everything goes well with your testing, Dr. fuller has very good credentials.

Best of Luck

As long as your happy with your decision with the dr and type of surgery, that's great. I'm having Dr. Fuller do my RNY. We totally hit it off when he walked in the door, the day of my consult. So I asked him and said he would gladly do it. If you don't mind me asking, why did you change to the DS?

3 Primary reasons,

1 No dumping syndrom, I know my lifestyle and with me on the road allot, I could not take the chance on the wrong food in some Black Bear dinner making sick.

2. It has a very high cure rate for type 2 diabetics.

3. The Ds has a much higher stats for long term weight loss, The chances are better to keep it off.

The set backs though are not great, DS has a poorer malabsorbtion problem, and there is no reversal with the DS.

Everybody has to do what is right for them.
