OT: Corn Nuts

I know someone was asking about these. I know the one's you buy in the grocery store have no protein. I went to Sprouts Farmer's Market and found BBQ Toasted Corn with 10g of protein per serving. Here is the website for Sprouts: http://sprouts.com/home.php You can see if there is one near you. =)

Wow hard site to navigate if you ask me! I could not find the break down on the corn nuts...and I am surmizing that they are high in carbs even though there is the protien!

I love Sprouts, it's a great market.  It was started by the guy who opened up Henry's after he sold that chain.  They don't have everything that is on the old shopping list but, what they do have is great and the prices are usually very good.

Given that we are talking about a corn product, it's not really surprising that they are high in carbs, though.

I used to like corn nuts but I gave them up along with Jujube and some other products.  Too tough on crowns and the like.  I have dental insurance but replacement crowns still cost me about $500 in out of pocket expenses.  I don't like corn nuts or Jujubes that much.

Hey Kitt-Katt ... It was me who was talking about Corn Nuts. I went to that site, but they don't have any stores anywhere near me - they are all in SoCal! Maybe next time I visit my family, I will drive over to Tustin (my cousin lives there, and I learned on my last trip that it's not far from my relatives in La Habra) and see what I can find there. Looks like a pretty cool store!

It's vey cool! Like a Trader Joe's, but better...fresher stuff, more Bulk items. I got dried green lentils, 2 different kinds of granola and Paul Newman's Soy Crisp Protein Chips (which have 8g of protein per serving, versus I think 4g for Trader Joe's). I will definitely be going back to Sprouts! =)
