Janine you are such a success story, what a great role model you are for so many of us here on OH!  Thank you!  for all the great advice and for all you do!

Today my In-Law's are up, they stayed last night.  We got to celebrate Christmas and my Husband's Birthday!  I know how Hunter will feel as he gets older...  I need to have a Birthday party in July for Dennis so he doesn't feel so cheated!  lol

Any way, today we are going out to brunch and then I'm thinking we will take in a movie.

Hi Chilly California!!...I just cannot warm up.  4 years ago I replaced my carpet with a tile floor and I've been freezing ever since..lol  I am a cheapo when it comes to using the central heater..so I park myself infront of a space heater...and freeze when I leave my living room..lol 

Janine I feel your situation with Hunter's birthday.  My oldest daughter's birthday is today and she is 26...spending it at Mt. High..snowboarding.  She still hates that her birthday is so close to Christmas...I've always offered her a half-year birthday all these years (in June or July), but she just fusses thru her real birthday..lol  I told her it could have been worse...she was due on Christmas Eve!

I am enjoying the 2 new recliners I bought during a Holiday sale at Laz-e-Boys. (delivered this morning!) My old ones were padded with 3-4 pillows, just enough to keep our butts off the floor..lol  In 2 months I will have a co-ordinating couch. 

I am finaly out of my holiday greif fog...this was a quiet year for me...I stayed in and kept everything at a slow pace.  First year blues ya know...still dealing with loss of my mother just 8 short months ago.  It's amazing the little things that pop up that keeps the memory alive.  Wanting to pick up the phone to call..or expecting calls that don't come.  Wanting to send flowers or gifts and unable to do so....Christmas cards and mail still comming from people who didn't know she had passed away..oh my, and having to keep up the smiles and spirit for those still needing me.  I can honestly say, most people understood and made it easier for me by just leaving me to my solitude when I needed it.  Last year saw the loss of my Grandmother in February, my Mother in May, my close as blood foster sister a few months ago...and my foster father 2 day after Christmas.  They are all out of pain and in a place full of peace and love. 

I got a new comfy new recliner and a fired up space heater ..gonna go sit now and watch Animal Planet..

If it weren't for having a half dozen projects I would think the world had come to an end! I have a motorcycle seat that need covered, a room that needs to finish being built, two that need painting, purse everywhere that aren't sewn, a blanket for my beautiful granddaughter Zoey, and the list is never ending. The blanket will be finished for her birthday. As will one of the rooms to be painted (the bathroom) cause I am having a big birthday party this year for the big Ol' 55 EEEKKK!!! Wow is the world did that happen. I know I am really still 30!!

I received my Christmas gift from my youngest son this morning and the second I opened it I burst into tears! It was a family picture of My son his soon to be wife her daughter and Luke and Zoey. I was so surprised by my reaction it made me cry a like more. OMG! How I miss him! 

I decide to go ahead and by a Wii...I have wanted one since the first came out and the price has gone down enough now were it doesn't ouch so much.

Well, I hope all you Cali folks have a wonderful week end I am going to get busy.

Good Morning ooops Afternoon Janine and Cali Board Friends,

We lost out internet connection this morning, so a little late today. 

I must admit it has been wonderful to have a vacation since Dec 24th.  I will go back to work on Monday and Tuesday, be off Wednesday and then be at UCSF at 6:00 a.m. for 7:30 a.m. date with my surgeon!

My sister in law and brother in law left for home (Canada) yesterday trying to get ahead of the storms slated for today.  So it's nice to have a quiet house again with just my hubby and I.

Enjoy your vacation while you have it.  Too soon it's back to the grind.  I know you had a fabulous time at Hunter's party.  I can't wait to see the pics.

Today was visit with friends and neighbors day.  I talked with Jenn for a while.  I read that dark unpasturized honey can speed you through a cold.   I haven't seen my friend Pat since we left 12/19 and I'm down 5 lbs since them..amazing.  It's like my body finally kicked into high gear and I'm loving it!  We talkd for 4.5 hours..lots to catch up on!

I ran my first solid 30 minutes today!  I completed the Runner's World  8 Week Beginning Runner's Training Program.  A year ago I never would have believed it.  But here I am and actually liking running!  I haven't braved the outdoors yet, I'm still running on my rebounder but my body must be liking it.  I'm losing more than I have since 2 months after surgery. Yaaaaaaaaaaay!
