Thanks Diane...maybe I am not chewing my food well enough.  I'll start chewing the heck out it and see if that makes a difference!  Thanks for the advice!

I was a fast eater before WLS.  To slow me down I got a Pampered Chef timer and timed each bite, 1 minute, then timed another minute between each bite.  Slowing down to this pace helped me a LOT.

Good luck, it will get easier.

My Surgeons rule is liquid before and Nothing after for 60 minutes from the time you finish eating. This keeps the food in the pouch longer so you feel full longer.
And like I said earlier talk to your surgeon.

I am 2 months post op----still "fragile" on eating anything but beans cheese and salsa---- ( thanks to Diane C.--I am okay with this!)   I feel a little nauseous a lot of the time---- but not right after I eat!  ( Or have a protien shake)  So.... Jan (jj_in_CA) gave me some advice I am using now---- making the meal ( my tiny little meal of beans and cheese)  last 30 minutes.....and taking a step back  ( to softer foods) when necessary----I feel like it's slow going and scary to try new things---- but that's what my pouch likes.... and I stay on these boards and know that this is temporary====it gets easier...... also check out the recipes----- for that stilton bleu cheesecake---and the pumpkin cheesecake---I was so happy to have new tastes that were agreeable!  I do get overwhelmed with all the changes and how sensitive my pouch seems to be...... but thanks especially to this board...I know we'll get through it!
Take care.......Lori
