Diet and exercise causing weight gain?
I am 8 weeks post Gastric Bypass laproscopic surgery. I have began in the last three days to walk 1 1/2 to 2 1/4 miles a day. My caloric intake is between 500-800 per day. I take all vitamins, get in 70-90 grams of protein. My liquid intake is poor but always has been, 40 ozs a day.
Since I started the walking I have gained two pounds. I purchased a pedometer to count steps. Frustrated! Anyone found this to be true for them? Any suggestions? I feel I am following the rules to the T and back sliding. Please Help!

I was a slow loser and followed protocal to a T as well. I had a lot of swelling from surgery. Talk to your doctor and work with him/her. My nutritionist said to add more water so I drank A LOT of Nectar drinks for the first year. You may be adding muscle with your walking and sometimes I've found myself stall and then seven pounds would drop off in a day's time. We all lose differently. Be easy on yourself.
My best to you!

I started with the Fuzzy Navel, then added in the Lemonade and finally switched to Cappuccino. I tried a couple other flavors and didn't like them. There was a blue one that made me gag.
Also, Unjury carries an unflavored protein which disolves easily that you can add to any hot or cold beverage. I did/do this a lot too. It changes the flavor a little, I would go to Bucks and add it to an iced non-fat latte.
I eventually went on to AchievOne which are expensive to ship. Now, I'm on Click Protein as shipping is free. Both AchieveOne and Click would have been too strong for me in the beginning as I had a sensitive pouch.
You'll find yourself switching around to break the boredom.

I had this happen. I upped my walking, kept my calories to 600 and my carbs at 20 and still plateaued then gained. I was trying to add too much walking, too fast. I dropped back to my former walking pattern and upped 1/4 mile a day every few days and it worked much better. The weight started coming off again.
Check out my profile for the article on glycogen. The body creates it's own glycogen if you haven't had enough carbs for the exercise you do and that causes you to retain 3 or 4 times the water (hence the weight gain). Since we're very low carbs you have to work up to walking more slowly.
Good luck and let me know how this works for you,
