You know Diana, I have shut my mouth, not now.  Why do you think that you need to come here and enlighten everyone about your surgery.  DO you EVEN read our posts!?  Doubt it because we all advocate to anyone that asks to check out the different kind of surgeries, none of us profess that ours is the best, it's the best for US, but we don't visit your board and give you crap about our surgery.  I am one that is VERY happy about the amount of calories I eat a day, they are certainly NOT 3000, and thank god for that, so how healthy are you craming that much food into your face?  I know as much as I want to know about your surgery.  I am much healthier today than I would have been with your surgery.  So how about you just keep your opinion about your surgery over on your board and not worry what we say over here.  Also, I have seen you on this board before, and then your drag others over here to discuss it.  How about your grow up, maybe eat a little less, because there is not a chance in hell you can be healthy stuffing your mouth that often.  Us with RNY knew that it was a lifestyle change and we wanted to change the way we eat forever, not have a surgery that malabsorbs foods, not be the same people we were eating all the crap that you do.  So grow up and stop trying to cause crap over here.  In case you haven't noticed that we have people from all kinds of surgeries here talking to us.  Maybe that is because we are a group of people that genuinely like each other, and don't judge.  If you want to come over here and talk to us fine, but don't come here sounding and insulting us like we are idiots here and we never tell anyone else that there is a choice in what they do!

Now you have a fine time at the buffet table,

Diane

Diana:

There is no doubt in anyone's mind (or I am pretty sure there isn't) that you are very knowledgeable in the various weight loss surgeries available.  However, I believe you would get a much more positive reception when you impart your knowledge by doing so in a less confrontational way.  We all know that the written word can be interpreted in so many different ways.  Your posts come off as "in your face."  I am trusting that you do not mean it to come off that way as everyone knows that you catch more flies with honey than vinegar, but you seem to want to spew the vinegar to  those who do not choose to have the DS.

As someone else has said, eating healthily is what we need to do to be a success.  So with the DS, you can eat the mealdeal at the local fast food restaurant, but are unable to with the RNY.  Do you know how bad that meal deal is for you? This is just arhetorical question because I know you are a highly intelligent woman.

Anyway, I am pretty sure this will fall upon deaf ears, but please think about it.  You might well get a lot of people to become more familiar with the DS if you worded your e=mails less confrontational.  Just my .02 worth.  You know, Rocke tells me you are truly a nice person, but honestly, you cannot tell that by your e-mails.  They sound very bitter and negative.

O.K. go ahead and hit me with one of your zingers, as this is your m.o. when someone doesn't agree or tried to give an opinion that differs from yours.  Anyway, have a great Sunday.

For the most part, the only people who get their panties in a twist over my posts are those who are POST-OP.  Too bad, so sad, I wasn't talking to you.  Read my siggie line.

As for fast food being bad for me, OBVIOUSLY you still don't understand how the DS works.  I can eat pretty much as much fat as I want (which has limits, but not ANYTHING having to do with limiting fatty meat, butter and mayo in my diet) without paying any attention to it, because 80% isn't absorbed.  I can eat 3000 calories/day, 50% from fat and 100 g of protein, and only absorb less than 1300 calories.  So tell me again how bad that would be for me??

The only people making my posts seem controversial are the non-DS post-ops who take my recommendation to look into the superior weight loss and other benefits of the DS as an affront to the choices they made and which it is too late to change.  Go figure.
