I'll weigh in a little...trying not to offend...but on this issue one might have to.  Janel I believe is right...How she said it, may have been more out of frustration than tack...yet, being a man, I know that my sex can be the one that is known for a lack of tack over the years.  I may have shared this before...but if I was pre op and went to the DS Board and said I am pre op and after much research I have decided to go with RNY...I would get roasted.  On the other hand, if I went to the RNY Board and said I was going with the DS...Most would say..."good for you".  The DS people are almost fascist about their cause.  It really does get tiring.

OMG..lol..according to another board..we (RNYr's I guess) are known as "stinky people"..lol  
I never knew that. 
I had never read the other boards before today..only the main board, then found my way here (California OH) because I wanted to talk to and get to know people close to home.  I am so happy we are an "equal opportunity loser" board.

Bravo.  That was a tough road with all that when it happened.  You were so correct in what you said It is all about support.  I don't flame anyone for what surgery that they had.  Of course I am more biased to the surgery I had but that was my choice.  I have been here on the boards for 5 year now.  I do not see Lynnie and Kirsten causing  stuff cuz they had bands.  It is all a personal choice and what works for you.
So the point being we are here to support one another and act as a support group.
Way  to go.  I knew Diane would not be able to let anything slide.

Just wanted to chime in, and say I support the original poster.

Gosh don't be insulted, as we said, we welcome anyone to the board, because no matter what kind of surgery you have, it is a struggle.  As far as VSG goes, my own cousin had that done a little over a year ago, and is thin as a rail now and very happy.  She is over here some of the times, and she is welcome, because she doesn't come here with an attitude matter of fact if you don't look at her pic and profile you would not even know.  This is the ONLY place on the board that is free of crap, we have fun here and this place is like family.  When some of the girls and boys ran the LA marathon, over 80 people showed for dinner to wish them luck, people have baby showers and we are all invited, and some of my best friends in my life I have found here. 

Come here and be part of a family is fine, but coming here advocating and actually insulting the people of this board by writing about your surgery like we are idiots and would try to sway someone into having OUR kind of surgery when infact we tell pre-ops of different surgeries and to find out which is best for them, just ****** people off! 

When I came to this board my mind was already made and I was understood this is where I could get support, that is exactly what I got.  No one tried to change my mind, they welcomed me, wished me luck and I have been here over two years.  Meeting friends who are like family. That is what the board here does.

So welcome if you care to join in and meet some of us.
