Hi there,

I will be having my surgery tomorrow at UCSF, Dr. Rogers is my Dr.  So far everything has gone exceedingly smooth and I can let you know more next week on how the surgery went.  The staff at UCSF is wonderful, Rekka, Dr. Rogers assistant is quick to respond.  Karen at the front desk can be a little stiff at the beginning but I worked my charm and won her over!  LOL

When is your surgery scheduled?

Dr. Posselt is the Director of Bariatric Surgery, and my Dr is the Asst. Director.  I will tell you, they are VERY thorough and kind.  I have not met anyone at this point who hasn't been kind, considerate and genuinely interested in me. It's really refreshing.

Thanks for your wishes, I am very excited.

Dr. Posselt did my Dad's kidney transplant.  My Mom donated her kidney.  That was 5 years ago and the kidney transplant is still going strong.  Back then he did transplants at UCSF.  I guess he's changed his focus.

I believe he does both. What a wonderful gift of love on your mother's part.Happy to hear they are doing well.I knew of Dr.Posselt ecpertise,I almost felt embarressed asking him (after working with such sick bodies, transplanting etc) if he felt like we were asking him to multilate a healthy body to help make it thin.In his wisdom he looked up at me and said."These are not healthy bodies." That did it for me. He got it,he sees all the disease and illnes and bad affects carrying so much weight can do!I understand that he is one that fixes the "messed up RNY"s and people with surgical problems.I see him in the next couple weeks, hopefully to schedule my surgery.Thanx for the reply. My best to you and yours.

Hi there, I wanted to let you know that my surgery went very well and uneventful.  I went in on Thurs and come home Sat.  My anesthesiologiest team was the best and made me feel at ease instantly, in fact we were on a 1st name basis going in to surgery, Manny, Anju and I.  In recovery, things went very well, they were very attentive.  I was in a private room that had the most gorgeous view of the city and a large flat panel tv on the wall!  The chair in the room made into a bed for my hubby too.

Except for a few minor faux paus, stay was great and nurses were wonderful especially Mei Mei and Jessica.

Best of luck on your journey.  Please keep in touch.
