Celebrex vs Voltaren . . . reasoning of my doc

Just an FYI about why my doc gave me Voltaren rather than the Celebrex.  He said while the Celebrex would be easier on my stomach, he has found that for osteoarthritis in the hips it is not as effective.  He offered to let me try it . . . but I think I'll keep what he gave me first to see how it goes . . . at least there is a reason for one type over another!  He himself had his hip replaced last year . . . I don't even want to THINK about that!

Thanks for all your thoughts everyone . . . I appreciate it!

Chris

Chris,
Please make sure that they put you on either prevacid or prilosec.  It will help protect your stomach.  You really do need to protect the pouch

I loved Voltaren and Soma when the doc put me on it for back problems about 10 years ago.
