Does anyone know of a support group in the L.A. are or southern california that accepts patients not associated with a doctor? And accepts Sleeve (VSG) surgery?

Thanks

Hey Girl!  I remember you from one of our DS support group lunches when you came with your mom.  You were only a few days out from your sleeve surgery and I was so impressed with how you were already up and out joining us for lunch.

We share some similarities in our surgeries since all DSers also have a sleeve.  You are always welcome to join us anytime.

I post announcements on the DS board but I also send out emails to my list.  If you would like to join us just look for announcements of SCADS (So. Cal. Area DSers) meetings.  Also, I can put you on my email list if you PM me your email address.

Yes, I belong to three groups at Torrance Memorial Medical Center and one at Hillside Village in Torrance as well.  Except for my Lap Band group, it would be wholly cool if you wanted to join any of the groups.  Heck, if you want to come to my Lap Band group, that's completely fine, too.

The ones at TMMC are sponsored by Drs. Takahashi, Baghai, et al, but are open to the public.  There is a general bariatrics group, an "eating normal" group that is new, and a Lap Band group, these groups take up the first three Monday evening of the month, at different times.

The one at Hillside Village is sponsored by Dr. Owens but, again, is open to the public.  Although, since it is in a smaller office, it's a good idea to call the moderating counselor.  It's usually on the first Saturday of the month, in the afternoon at 3:00.

If you are interested, send me an PM.  If it is convenient for you, we would love to have you at any of our groups.

Hello Miss Emily! So good to see you! I usually just peek in on this forum and I'm glad I did today because here you are! Yes, please come to the SCADS meetings!! You know we always have a big turnout and have lots of fun chatting and eating! The Pac Lap meetings have more of a support group feel to them with different topics each moth. They're out in Anaheim. I hope I get to see you again soon!

P.S. Check out my profile and my LBL pics! I'm 2 months out and I have a flat tummy now! woo hoo!!

Thanks sweetie! The past couple of months have been rough, but now that I'm just about healed up, I can say that it was definitely worth it! I can't wait to show you my scars! They're actually not that bad now! Next up...boobs and arms! Can't wait! Hope to see you soon and tell your mom I said hello!!

Feeling a little better.   But still cranky.  Can you tell from my recent posts?  I have no tolerance for people with no reading comprehension when I'm cranky, lolol.
