Why I do it
The wheels of justice grind slowly. There were depositions taken in December, and more in a couple of weeks. At some point, I think it is likely that Health Net will realize they are going to LOSE, and will make a settlement offer. Even if that offer is good for me, I will not take it if it does not benefit other Californians.
In the meantime, I continue to tone my body with (bleah) moderate exercise, and continue to drop a pound or 4 here and there without dieting. I am now under my pre-plastics goal weight, which was not that low, so for at least the next 10-15 lbs, I am good with that. Trying to see the bright side of the delay ...

Diana you know I appreciate what you bring to the Cali board and DS board as far as knowledge and willingness to help. i know you have helped many mnay througfh several different process with ever asking for money or kudos or anything from them.
What kills me is when the posts are coordinated and posters are bombarded by the DS folks, see example below from today......

And just why does it "kill" you for the DSers to coordinate their postings? The girl is over 500 lbs. and is unlikely to benefit long term from RNY, VSG or Lapband. Just what exactly is your problem with this? Are we marching on her house, dragging her out, wrestling her into a car and driving her to a hospital to force her to have a DS??
99% of the information she is going to get from her insurance company, the VAST majority of bariatric practices, internet searches and WLS message boards is going to be directed to the lapband and RNY. A concentrated dose of DS information should give her some perspective -- and will also benefit the pre-op lurkers who are reading this thread.
Now explain why this upsets you so much. Be honest with yourself.

Perhaps because a coordinated attack makes it seem like you are browbeating the poor girl into believing that DS is her only option? Mind you, I read the post indicated, and it didn't seem like it was "coordinated". Just a mention of the Original post on the main board. However, to me it seems as if you truly believe DS is the only WLS she should consider. I think that you will only be happy when DS is the only option out there. And while someday I may end up going down that road, it will be my choice, not something I was brainwashed to believe was my only way out.

Not the only option, but likely to be the best and CERTAINLY one she should seriously consider, and then consider again, and then a third time if the first surgeon her health plan sends her to isn't a DS surgeon and tells her false horror stories about the DS and tries to talk her out of it because S/HE isn't qualified to perform one.
Nobody said it was the only procedure she should consider. The posts say she should do her research and look at all her options, but ESPECIALLY the DS, which she might not have learned about otherwise.
You non-DS post-ops sure do like reading crap into our posts that isn't there -- I wonder why. Sour grapes?

No sour grapes here. Sad that you always defend yourself by accusing the person with an opposing viewpoint of jealousy. Detracts from the otherwise intelligent points you make.
I agree with the research you have done, just don't agree with the method of delivery. But then, you have heard that before too.
