WOW Moment and a tuesday funny

I am now off of 3 medications, two for diabetes and 1 blood pressure meds.  Two of these were the buggers that made me have my first dumping episode in the hospital.  Good riddance to them.  Two more to go and all I will have is my allergy pill, asthma inhalers and vitamins.  I can live with those.

I am SO darn excited and I am feeling SO good.  I love my RNY and yes, it's early but I'm rockin' that little swollen tool!   They say imitation is the best form of flattery so, hat's off to Maureen because I named my pouchy Peppermint Patty.  Why you say?

Well brilliant one here heard all of you when you told me that my tastes might change, but pre surgery I was stocking up on my post surgery food and thought how yummy chocolate mint fudge swirl sugar free pudding would be.  Well it was the 1st thing I tried on my 1st day home and I took one look at the fudge and asked Ron to skim it off (which he did).  I took a small (baby spoon) half full of the pudding and the mint just didn't sound or taste like I thought it would.  So, I gave the rest to my neighbor, she loved it.  LOL

Have a great evening, me and the recliner will be bed partners tonight again!

Hope you're feeling good!

Yay Barb - how cool is that - off 3 meds already!  Isn't it wild how the taste thing is?  Shel is right about trying it again down the road - because tastes sometimes change back as time goes on.  You are doing great, so just take it easy and keep following the plan.  You and P. Patty are awesome!

You guys are the bestest and thanks for reminding me to try again.

Cathy, I can't remember if I told you that I mentioned you to Dr. Rogers on Sat when we met for the discharge and he said to say hi.  So hi!  I will see him next Wed. for 1st visit.  Do I do blood then?  No one said anything.

Thanks,
Barb

How cool - did he look at all like he knew who I was? LOLOL  Hey - I have my (very late) one year checkup next Wednesday too - I'll be  there about 2:15 (the appt. is at 2:45).  Is your appt in the morning or afternoon?

ETA: I don't think they'll do bloodwork on you for this one - but the next one you'll need to have them send you the lab paperwork ahead of time.

Cathy,

Yes, he said he did.  My appointment is at 1:45 p.m. but she said to be prepared to wait because they are squeezing me in and he is overbooked.  Shall we plan to meet there sometime?

Cool - how about we meet outside the office at say, 1:15?  Then we can chat before your appt.   We'll probably have time afterward and before mine too.  How does that sound?
