Greetings all,

I want to take a minute and thank everyone for the emails and private messages of encouragement to keep thriving to get this weight loss before surgery behind me. I assure you guys I am not giving up and will have this done hopefully by next week (at least get the surgery date)

I went back in on Monday to get weighed after being extremely careful on what I ate and the amounts. Diane C kept telling me I wasnt eating enough and I needed to add a little protein to my diet. Well after getting on the scale, I had gained another 3 1/2 pounds. I was just totally devistated. The person at the office was very concerned (especially after the comment of me ready to give up LOL). She asked me to return on Tuesday to talk to the doctor. Then she noticed how swollen my feet and legs were. She asked if I was on a Diaretic and I am but its a combo drug for Blood Pressure / Diaretic.

I told here I was going to take some Lasix when I got home which I did. When I went back 24 hours later I had lost 4 1/2 pounds in one day?!? Well its water retention. The doctor has me on a strict diet and I see my doctor today and we will see what comes of it.

Thats where I stand now....................Have a great day

Good luck Rick! I know all about the water retention. I carried about 8 extra pounds because of it. I was on Lasix until about 3 days before surgery. Let us know what happens at the doc's.

Good luck Rick!  Water retention is NOT fun . . . but at least you know it is part of the problem for now . . . hope the doc has good news for you!

The good news is once you start losing you'll retain less water.  If you drink more water you'll retain less water too.  Counter intuitive, I know, but it's true.  Good luck at the doctor today!

I am sorry to hear you are holding so much water, and relieved at the same time..   I am so glad that you know now that it may not have been over eating, but holding water is what did you in..  I so hope that you are able to get some good news out of your trip today..

Remember to keep drinking tha****er, and stick to the plan.. It is a pain now, but you will appreciate it so much when you finally get that date...

Good Luck, and let us know how it goes..

Hugs,
Jenn

Greetings all,

Well my appointment went well but unfortunately it was not with my PCP. He said that the meds I am currently on need to be changed but he didnt want to do it and that my PCP should be the one since he is the one that will be monitoring my progress.

Unfortunately, I see the surgeon prior to my PCP appointment. So I guess all I can do is pound the water down (I am over 100 ounces a day now) and see if the diet works........

Have a great day
