I need a swift kick in the Butt

Okay this is set up for both flaming (with love) and support.  I have not been taking my vitamins. I know I know how bad that is and I know I have to take them.  Here's the deal no excuses honestly just reasons.  After this last surgery my tummy is so finicky that I got into a mode of if it's not bothering me I won't bother it.  That meant no eating and drinking anything for long periods of time.  In addition I have ADD and if i don't do certain things as routine, I won't remember to do it.  I want to take them but the few occasions I have remembered my centrum, they make my tummy hurt.  Maybe someone can suggest a new chewable multi vitamin for me to try.

I know after I'm shamed I will work them back in bacause I don't want to not be helpful to others here.  So I'm putting it out there to the peeps that can understand the most.  Hit me with your bast shot. (with love)

Monica I think that Bariatic Advantage has chewable vitamins...don't quote me on that as I am sure someone will come here and tell if they do or you can look on their website.

For me, I could not take those kind of vitamins you do because they hurt my stomach also. I finally have settled after all this time for Trader Joes high potency vitamins. They must do the trick because my labs after all these years are great. My doc said it is like I have money in the bank over my labs meaning I am going to not croak anytime soon and he said live to be an old age.

So my suggestion if you need routine....bring your vitamins to school and when you have your break...take one...find one that does not make you feel like crap first....and gawd  no do not do liquid vitamins because those really hurt my tummy...or when you do something regularly in the morning....when you make Jordyn's breakfast you have your vitamin. Find something that is consistant everyday at everytime.

I also take my calcium every night before I go to bed with the other meds I take routinely.

You know I never took a vitamin in my life unless the 2 times I was pregnant....until now and I have faithfully taken them with the exception of being in the hospital. I never thought I could get that routine...I am going on 7 years of it and it is habit now.

So no kick in the ass from me....just a gentle nudge....it is so important just ask Diane C who has had a hard time healing from her shoulder surgery. Don't wait until it could be too late for you to absorb what you need.

Have a great day gf! Ginger

Thanks Janine.  I know if I have to order vitamins I won't do it timely.  I will check out trader Joes and see if I think they will work for me.  I do have a schedule and I will be putting a big dummy note on my desk to help me remember until I get back into the groove.

Monica, I take the Bariatric Advantage chewable in the Orange flavor. They're not too bad. And if you're worried about forgetting to order them, they have an Automatic Refill Program. They will automatically send you your vitamins every 3 months and with that you get free shipping. And if you put KAISER in the coupon code box, you get 15% off your order.  Check it out at www.bariatricadvantage.com . =)

Monica . . . Bariatriac Advantage does have chewable vitamins . . . and I do the chewable Centram (alas, for SENIORS) . .  but they have them too.  I'm not going to flame you . . . you know you need them . . .and realize what you have doesn't work . .. so . . .try some chewables or the ones from Trader Joes Janine is talking about ... just get them into you.

I never told you guys this, but my 1st husband was one of the original guinia pig cases for intestinal bypass back in the late 70's . . . and most of his problems were because he took NOTHING . . . (I don't think they realized the problems about no vitamins or he just didn't care) . . . and he had Vitamin A defiieny so badly he couldn't even have a light on in the room becauseof the pain in his eyes. .. so BESIDES drinking himself to death - he also never took any vitamins ... and while they reversed his bypass, that damage was never "fixed" . . . so PLEASE take those vitamins!!!!!

Thanks for the information Chris.  I just took my calcium and my tummy is screaming but I need it so I will do it.  I think I may put a call into my Dr and/or nutritionist to see what he recommends.

Hi, Monica,

Do you take your multi's with food or milk?  That might help the upset.

Sometimes our little tummies are just a little tender.

Good luck!

I second what Janine said. It is all to important to get your vitamins in.. I know I have had a hard time remembering too, (I also have ADD) but we just have to get them in..  Jan helped me come up with a schedule, it is rough to keep up with at first, but at least I can look and see what times I have to take what, and it is really helping me.. I am not saying that I haven't forgotten to take something, but I am doing my best, and before I know it, it will be second nature...

So do your best, keep it going, and I hope it works out of you hun..

Hugs,
Jenn
