I got to sleep in MY bed....
Oh how wonderful it was to be able to sleep in my OWN bed and not on the couch.. Wooo Hoooo..
My DH put a stool in there and helped me in and out of bed.. (It's so stinking high) But we did it, and I got to lay in there last night.. YEA!!!
I do have to say that I really took over the bed with all the pillows that I had to prop me up. LOL but at least I didn't have to sleep downstairs all by myself again.. And the puppy had more room to stretch out on the bed, then the little section of couch I was on.. SO it was nice for us all..
SO I just thought I would share with you my good news.
Hugs,
Jenn

Thanks Marcy.. It is so much better in your own bed, but you will find right after surgery that you will do what ever you have to in order to stay comfortable.. So even if you are in your recliner for a couple days, you will eventually get to go back to your bed..
Thanks for the support..

Ohhh that feels so good, doesn't it?
You'll find all those pillows really help, especially the ones propped against your belly, if you're a "side sleeper."
I LOVE my pillows and STILL use all of them. My husband teases me and says I look like a hampster when I'm in bed.
Congrats on your accomplishment. It gets better and better.

Oh YES YES YES it does... LOL
I was big on pillows before my surgery, but I am even more so now... LOL It is amazing all the pillows I slept with.. But I love it, and my DH teases me too..
I haven't been able to sleep on my side yet, but am looking forward to it.. I will try to prop myself up on my side tonight, but if I don't, well I know it will come soon enough.. YEA!!
Thanks so much Pam..

It took me until about 2 months out until I was able to sleep on my side. I hated sleeping on my back!
I was spoiled i guess, since I had to stay in the hospital for 6 days rather then the 2 days, so I got to have a hospital bed for my first week! lol

Oh how I wish I could have brought that Hospital Bed home with me.. LOL I am sorry you had to stay in for 6 days and happy for your comfort at the same time, but I would have loved to stay if they let me.. I was defiantly more comfortable there than I am here.. LOL
I think I may end up not being able to as I am still so very sore, but I will give it a try.. And like I said, if it doesn't work, well then I guess I will have to tolerate sleeping on my back a little longer.. *GRRR*
Have a Great day hun..

Oh gosh the 6 days was horrible. I learned I was allergic to morphine and the hospitals band-aids by the end of that stay. My face looked like I was crying for a week straight! Damn morphine!
But if I could give you a little bit of advice. I'm not sure how many kids are home with you during the day, but sleep as much as you can! I only had my 2 year old during the day, and it because routine for a few months that we would just lay in mommy's bed and watch t.v. I know it sounds horrible, but by 2 months I was feeling great! When a lot of people I have talked to took over 3 months to start feel better. Give in to your body when it tells you to sleep! You will heal much faster!! Of course do your walking. But listen to your body.
