Newbie here...set date today

 Hi! I just wanted to introduce myself to you! I have been lurking for awhile and got my surgery date today...Feb 23rd!! I am filled with emotions... happy, scared, excited...  This board seems very friendly and supportive. I have read a lot of your posts and wanted to let you all know that your words have made my decision easy and I hope to have as much success as you all have!

We are glad that you are here.  You are going to have great success I can just feel it.  We are a pretty good group around here.  Are you having your sugery in Orange?  If so that is where I had mine, it was a great place, and you do have a great doctor.  If you need anything let me know, you can just PM me.  Good luck to you and please feel free to ask any questions you can think of.

Yes I have, some real wonderful people actually,  Some I have met in person many times and others that are my email friends.  Some of the email friends we have plans to meet.  People here understand eachother and know what eachother is going through.  Most here want to help in anyway they can to make your journey through all this easier.  And we fight over red pants all the time.  We went to lunch a few weeks ago and were going to mug Janine for her top in the parking lot.  But we decided we would get into trouble so we decided to just wait until she gets tired of it and shares it with us!  We are a fun group.  You will enjoy us.  Where are you from by the way?  You have a super day.

Welcome to the Cali board, we're excited you will join us.  Congrats on your date too.  I had my surgery a week ago and I know all about how you are feeling.  I think all of our Cali board crew  are so supportive and caring and if you have questions everyone will give you honest feedback and assistance.

Congratulations!!! Don't you just love Oliak & Alli? I was in there office today, too. Tomorrow is my one year surgiversary!! wooohooo!!! I can't belive it! You are in good hands and are going to love your rny. If you have any questions, just ask me. Just remember support, eat, sip & walk..those are some main tools. They have a support meeting at Western Medical Center every Thursday @ 6:00 p.m..Dr. Melissa is really good. I can't go this semester, since I am taking a class on Thursdays, but anywhoo go. Everyone is sooo nice and it keeps you on track. Even go before your surgery, they really do help. Good Luck!!!!

 Thank you for all the nice sentiments! Julie- yes.. I think Dr. Oliak is great! The whole office staff is really nice!  I was thinking about going to the support group on Thursdays. Is Dr. Melissa  the psychologist at the office? Blonde hair? I believe I met with her yesterday at the office?  How large is the group on Thursdays? Thanks again!
