It's time for us to start to think about Swimwear. Many of us are happy with our weight loss during the winter when we wear clothes that hide flaws. I have a cruise coming up in March/April and I am looking for a swim suit. What kind do you get? I have Shar-pei thighs and flat saddle bags. Have you bought a swim suit recently? what did you get?

I had to buy a suit in October, when I went on vacation to Escondido.  It doesn't fit now.  It was a solid-color Speedo tank, with contrasting piping.  It was actually really nice looking on me but that was about 25 pounds ago.

I am holding off on buying another suit until I need it.

I usually get a one piece although I also like tankinis with full coverage bottoms.  What I buy next time remains to be determined...

Here my my part of Cali we have suits all year round. I tried some on just yesterday. My thighs are a problem too, since it is harder to cover up. I did find a few tankinis that came with shorts instead of skirt bottoms. I liked um. I decided I would go a few sizes bigger then the size I wear in pants because 1) they were tight and 2) the bigger size was longer in the legs. They had strings to pull them tighter, so you could go up a few sizes for the thigh coverage, but still keep them up. Good luck, and enjoy the cruise!

P.S. also the shorts were neat because they had bikini bottoms inside of them and the shorts were attached.

Secondly about the suit. Well that can be a tricky one, but what I found works really good is board shorts. Even though I had thigh surgery...it is not great....you know you still fight with gravity and the fact that I have not been able to exercise because of an accident and ab problems.....the board shorts are the answer for sure. I bought them in black. I got them at Kohl's last year and I am sure they will have them this year. I am able to wear a bikini top which I do or you can get a tankini top...either way....I feel comfortable out in public even with all the scars on my torso...it was all worth it!!!

Have fun on your cruise...and model us a swimsuit!!!!

Check out Lands End catalogue. They have really cute styles that mix and match colors, patterns and styles. Great if you have a smaller bottom than top and vice versa. Pre body lift I bought a couple of suits... tankini top and tankini skirt with modest cut bottom. Post body lift last summer I picked up three tankini suits from Marshall's for $10 and $15 each.

Have fun on your trip!

Thanks for the great suggestions . Short style will probably work best.

I have some board shorts I have used in the spa during the winter. They are too big now. Funny I stumbled on this post as I was just shopping ebay for them!
