Okay I will do it short last year I had Aetna HMO I started doing all my tests in October. I did complete them but not in time to have surgery. Starting Jan my company changed insurance now I have Blue Cross / Blue shield. My question is has anyone had this situation and been able to use all the test with the new insurance or had to start all over. Thanks

Belen,

Yes, you should be able to use all the test with the new insurance.  Generally they want them within the past 12 mos.

Thanks for asking, I am feeling really good and taking one day at a time.  So far so good, and surgery was uneventful.

Thanks,
Barb

Wow I just went through the same thing. Yes if all the tests are current there should be no issue.  You will just have to get BC to approve the surgery and pray that you can keep the same doctor. BC requires them to be a center of excellence...

Hi Belen,

I don't know the answer to your question - but, here's what I'm thinking...

It depends on what types of tests.   Depending on the type of tests, it may be more of an issue for your surgeon.  I believe some tests need to be performed within a certain proximity to your surgery date, and if it's been performed to long ago - the surgeon may want it performed again.

Good luck to you...

I did my prelimanary testing not my pre op testing so I am hoping that all the other test can be used. I will call my insurance tomorrow they closed today for the holiday. The good thing I am not dealing with a medical group I can call them directly.
