Good Monday Morning Cali
Thanks for the shout out. I will be starting a new chapter or new book in my life. Thanks for all the prayers and support. Ms Shell is a wonderful support system.
Take care.

Janine, thanks for the shout out. I think the reason I keep getting sick is because for the last 5 years I have been pretty much a hermit, Now that I am feeling better and getting out more I catch everything out there. I have a pissy immune system to begin with...Grrr!
Well, I am starving, so, I am going to go make some eggs for breakfast and hope it stays down!
Hope everyone has a great day.
Steve, I am sending warm thoughts and prayers to you and your family.

I'm off work today for the MLK holiday. Janine, I did watch watch the Inauguration Party on HBO last night. I enjoyed it... the music, the readings - a great way to honor our history. I'm very encouraged that President Obama will get this country turned around in the right direction. If you get Parade magazine in the Sunday paper, read the heatfelt letter he wrote to his daughters.
I had a great weekend - we took the bikes down to San Diego and rode around Mission Bay - couldn't have asked for better weather; had lunch at a restaurant in Little Italy. Sunday David and I celebrated one-year by going back to the place we met for lunch. And... after a year, I'm still pinching myself - is this a dream, I am so lucky!
Today I'm going to relax, do a few chores, and gather the paperwork needed for my re-fi.
I'm looking forward to hearing about your students "I Have a Dream" projects - what a great idea!
As far as eating goes... I'm back on track today after not a bad weekend, but not what I need to be doing to get these 29.5 pounds off.
Be well...

Happy MLK day to all. Thank you for the shout out Janine, so sweet and fun to have 1st thing with my herbal tea, I'll be so glad to get coffee back one of these days but the herbal is good in the meantime.
Yesterday I got to drive for the 1st time since my surgery. I went to the store and did walking but not quite as much as I had hoped.
Today not too much on the schedule, this is the last day my hubby is home before he starts his LAST semester at CAL. I am so excited and proud of him, he has guts to go back to school and graduate from UC Berkeley at the age of 54. Then on to a job that he will hopefully love and get at Cal. I will be planning a big shin dig to celebrate in June sometime.
I go back to work a week from today. I think I will spend tomorrow spiffing up the resume and start sending them out.
I hope everyone has a great day and that the week ahead is the best.
Always,
Barb
Gotta go look up the little league information for Jayden over in McKinleyville. Dad's sending the $ home for mom and I'll get the forms printed out for her to fill out and have ready. He's excited. Dad and Jayden are going to go play some ball and catch today for a bit. Then we're going to go shoot some skeet with friends.
PK my fur baby is officially off quarantine. That was the stupidest most lame thing ever. Because she scratched me, my OWN cat, she had to be quarantined for 10 days. Puhleese. She's 100% up to date on her shots, I just had her fixed and she doesn't venture far away. Can anyone see me rolling my eyes????? Even the darn Animal Control officer admits its stupid. (I guess this was one of those times I should have lied about what happened!)
Off to stuff the kid in the tub, make some cheese and salami chips and finish my yogurt.
Have an excellent day everyone

Happy MLK Day!
Thanks for asking about the trail. We ended up down at the beach where Huntington meets Newport and the bike trail heads North. There are less people on the actual trail that leaves the beach so it was very nice. I'm supposed to run today, but I'm not sure at this point.
Dave gets terrible cellulitis infections in his left leg still. In the past several years I can't even count how many he's had.....several life threatening. Plus In May of 2006 he had Bacterial Meningitis. Well, he woke up naseous this morning and he's running a fever and my panic meter goes off again. I've checked his leg and I can't see ANY signs of infection, so maybe it's just the stomach flu.
Anyhoo, I hope everyone has a great Monday.
Oh and BTW.......I'm still deciding but we may come out your way in a couple of weeks, Janine. I'm turning 50

Thanks for the shout out Janine....We at church DO worry about our freind....she has more going on than what I wrote..she is ALWAYS in the People's Prayers at church. I think we all know or have known someone like her.
I was soo jazzed by the festivities last night in DC. I told my husband,...holy cow..those guys (performing) got old!!..lol When did John Melloncamp cut his hair??..When did Pete Seger get gray??..lol And Bruce..the Boss...well....he is still HOT! But best of all..we got a Boomer in the White House..lol He's gonna take us far. The First Daughters were adorable..so star struck,..yet their Daddy is gonna be the most recognized man in the world for the next 4..hopefully 8 years!!!
My husband's retirement is playing havoc with my WLS aftermath. He retired 1 week after my WLS and is starting to get underfoot. I spent 27 yrs with the house, kids and animals to myself everyday..lol I find myself getting very keyed up and resorting to bad habits...ugh...day by day..have to summon up some Chi..lol
Gorgeous day in California...enjoy all...

Yeah I am definitely happy not to have to try to drive all the way here from Tucson, I don't mind driving but thats a long day, especially when you are stopping every two hours to get dogs out of the car!
My thoughts are with everyone today, there is a lot of dramatic stuff going on with our board right now, thank goodness we all have each other for support!
As for me, putting in several hours at work, headed home this evening to finish cleaning up (I HATE coming home to a messy house after a trip!) and packing up so that we can hit the road to AZ bright and early tomorrow!
Hope everyone has a great day!

Good afternoon, Janine & Co.
I am having a wonderful MLK day off from work.
I did two hours of Pilates this morning. One on the mat and one on the reformer. With all the exercise I do, particularly the Pilates and my personal training sessions, my core muscle looks pretty darn good. And I feel great.
I had an early lunch with my father at Red Robin, after I got a shower in. It's pretty bad when you can smell your own B.O. after working out. I don't understand why I smelled so bad to myself but that's why I have bathtubs and showers in my house, to keep clean and smell sweet.
I had a couple of OH family members over for a short period this afternoon since I had some perfect size clothing for one of them. I enjoyed meeting them both, very nice ladies.
I am getting ready to take my newspapers across town to my father's house and read them, before we have a fairly early dinner.
I am going to a Eating Normally support group at Torrance Memorial Medical Center this evening. This is a new group in their bariatric support groups. They have three different groups, each meeting on a Monday evening (although at different times and of different durations); the other two are a general bariatric surgery support group and a lap band support group. I go to all three groups. I haven't noticed much of an overlap in the general and lap band group, although I suspect I will for the eating group. I am really looking forward to this group.
Other than that, nothing new. I do hope to meet and/or see some of you in Long Beach this Saturday since the Long Beach coffee meeting is this weekend.

Yes Janine, I did have my first outing and it was great and sad.. I wrote a blog about it on my page, feel free to check it out..
I am not doing so hot.. I was up dry-heaving last night. I have NO energy, and am not eating or drinking much.. I called my Dr. and he wasn't concerned, just told me to keep trying to sip tha****er.. So I guess he doesn't think I need to be checked out.. So I will do my best.. My pouch does hurt a bit today, but he said that it is just probably swollen and so the opening isn't as big as it normally is.. I guess we will just have to see how things go.. I see him on Wendnesday..
Thanks for the recipe Janine, I can't wait to be at that stage..
I hope you all are having a great day..
Hugs,
Jenn
