OMG, OMG, OMG!!!!!!!!!
Hey ... Congrats to you. I am having the same feeling as you... 29th Jan is my date. I to have the same questions as you. Hopefully we can keep in touch. If you can try to put into words your journey ... before and after your surgery. I want to hear what it was like for you. The Gas ... the pain ... the vitamins and protein in take. Good Luck and many Blessing to you.
Who is your surgeon? Check out my blog from April. Lots of tips there. I used the pain pump as a preventative measure immediately out of surgery but really didnt need it. I used the Gas x strips and chewables just for the "pressure". No real shoulder or gas pain I had heard about. I went back to work in 8 days.

Melissa,
Congratulations and I just know you will do well. I had my RNY on Jan 8th (I blogged about it) and have done fantastic. I recommend walking as much as you can and it will help SO much. You're gonna burp and fart and just rejoice each time. LOL I didn't find the gas pain unbearable at all. I liked Carmex because the menthol was cooling on my lips vs chapstick.
I brought my iPod which they let me wear into surgery and then they took it out once I went to sleep and I woke up in recovery listening to music, it was the best.
I am SO excited for you. Please make sure someone lets us know how you are doing and post when you get home.
Hugs,
Barb
