Ok, so I'm going to complain a little.  I have Kaiser and I went to see my doctor today.  I've been having some pain in my right hand, turns out it's tendonitis.  Yippee.  I also talked to her about my shoulder pain from a work injury and some rib pain from slipping but not falling in the shower a couple of months ago.  And do you know what she says to me...that I wouldn't have all of these problems if I lost some weight.  She told me that I needed to start trying to lose some.  And I exclaimed I have been!  To which she asked how much.  So I told her 40 pounds.  She said that was good.  And I told her that I'm waiting for my surgery date...she's the one *****ferred me in the first place.  Maybe if she would look at my file she would know all of that.

I am sick and tired of doctors blaming all my problems on weight.  How the hell is my hand being injured due to my weight!?

Okay, thanks for letting me vent.  I'm now looking forward to a nice relaxing weekend.

Hope you all have a great day!

Find a new doctor.  Any doctor that blames everything on your weight isn't qualified to be a doctor.  It's their excuse for their stupidity!  I could give you a list of problems I had when I was morbidly obese and none of them were from weight, but yet doctors told me it was.  Had they been any good, today I might have a family with children.  You are so right, your wrist has nothing to do with being overweight.  I lost so far 166 lbs and I am in WORSE shape now.  As my orthopedic said the other day, I probably wouldn't have gotten so hurt had I had all the weight back on me.  Of course we laughed, but he is right.

I would find yourself a doctor that can listen to what is wrong with you, and not sterotype you.

Good luck,

Diane

Jenn,

I would probably bet that she is a skinny minny that has never had a weight problem in her life!  LOL  I had a female dr that was the same way.  I switched to her partner who is the best Dr. I have every had.  He is an internist and an endocrinologist so he totally understands weight loss and diabetes and is an incredible diagnostician.  I feel so blessed now.  He is the one *****commended me for surgery and his support is unending.  I hope you will seek another physician who will listen and understand your needs.

Have a great weekend.
