My Race today
OMG! My friend Cyndi woke up early and called me, "we are on the way" WTF!! it's only 4 am, the run is not until 7, why are you so early, I wont even get coffee. UGH! She says its because her husband don't want to be late. I guess 3 hours early would make sure we are not late. I mean come on, its onlu 20 mins from my house. How can we be late? Ok so we spent a whole hour at AM/PM looking at everything, TWICE!
We got the finish line at 6. parked there, and walked over to where the start line was. That is was before they moved it that is. There was already about 20 others standing around, so we just hung out. About 15 min before the 30 mins late start, they called us all over the where the start line was NOW. The course was to run around the mall 1 1/2 times for 3 miles. The map they where handing out, was WRONG now, since the moved the start line and the finish line. This is only there second year so maybe next year it will be better. But I doubt it. LOL
We finished by my watch at 45 mins. I say by my watch, because the "timing" guy, was a guy yelling the time as you pasted. But there was no way of telling who's time was who's. Can you say Micky Moused?? Just about the only good thing I can say about the run was that it was fun. The runner/walker that where around us where very friendly, and we talked and joked with each other. That always makes it fun.
The guy that won the 5k done it in 16 mins. OMG!!! that was just past mile one for us. He was FLYING!!!! The guy that won the 10k done it in 29 mins. Its a very flat course, no hills at all, so speed is easy, but dang they laped us like we where standing still. No joke! Now we didn't rush, we just done our thing. We are not the last to finish, in fact, there was two ladie finishing as we where getting in the car to leave. There was nothing to do after the race, just some water and oranges. The weather was great from running, not really cold, but no where near warm.
Cyndi's husband, her brother and her youngest girl all ran for the fist time. So I guess it was a nice race for there first. It was fun, and no stress. It will keep them going back. They all did great, but I don't know there time.
OK time to get moving and make DD some lunch. I wish you all a great day.
