This Sunday I'm running another half-marathon (my third one) in Huntington Beach. I've been having some sharp pain in my hip and after going to the doctor today I've been cleared to run and with the some help of some medicine and rest I should be ok.

This particular race is for a good cause. I'm running to raise money for the Free Wheelchair Mission. This group provides light-weight durable wheelchairs to the disabled who live in third world countries.  The wheelchair kits are made from plastic lawn chairs and recycled mountain bike tires....and so far I've raised enough money to provide chairs for almost 14 people in need.

So thank you for all of your support and your donations!!!!!  Say a little prayer for me on Super Bowl Sunday, could ya? ;)

Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

This is such a wonderful cause, I wish I had more to donate for you.  Sadly, bills come first.  Have a great and painfree (hopefully) run.  You are truely an inspiration to so many.  Keep it up!!!

Monica:

What a great cause.  I helped a little.....can't afford more but I figure every little bit counts.

Harley, my neice Ally, my youngest son and I will be walking the Redondo Beach 5K that day and we're so excited.  This 5/10K is very near and dear to my heart because my father and I ran it several years together.

I wish you a pain free run!
