Help abnormal presurgery labs!

I posted in the Feb surgery dates forum, but thought maybe someone here might advise.  I am freaking out.  I read my lab results online and they show elevated Leukocyte count.  I researched and that means a urinary infection, which I have NO symptoms of.  Help!  Surgery is scheduled for Monday and I am so upset right now.  Of course I cannot find out anything until tomorrow morning.  Any opinions?  Will they reschedule?  I am just sick about this.

If you do have a UTI I doubt they would reschedule. Since its so early in the week, you can start some antibiotics and have it cleared.

Let us know how this all turns out!!

God bless you for replying.  And giving me hope.  I have calmed down a bit and am trying to remember that God is in control.  I will let you know what I find out tomorrow.  I actually have a nurse appt at 10 am (not at the surgeon's office), so hopefully they will re-do the test if needed.

If it is a urine test it could be just a contaminated specimen.  Hang tight til after you talk to the nurse.

I found out I had an UTI 3 days before my RNY. My doctor put me on an antibiotic that I continued to take via IV after surgery. I don't see any reason you would have to reschedule. THey said it didn't complicate the surgery at all. GOod luck and I hope this helps!

Thanks trukerzgal and also for everyone's encouragement!  I just got back for the nurse appt I had. She did not look at my results, said she did not have access from her desk, but  she was NOT worried about it at all.  She said it would not cause the surgeon to reschedule.  I would have felt a tad better if she had actually LOOKED at the lab results.  Anyhow, if anything changes I will update everyone.  Thanks again.

EDITED for another update.  I just received a phone call from the doctor and he IS phoning in a prescription for me!  I feel better, now.
