What are the best things from Cosco for us newbies?
I keep hearing go to Costco and get your protein, it's cheaper. Honestly, I get so overwhelmed in there, I come out with everything for everyone and no time or money left for myself! So, I am thinking if I go in there with a list of things to get, I can start there. I need to get protein powder, the green and go stuff and what else is good for a newbie to get there? What kind of protein is best to mix with water (lactose intolerant)? Stuff for liquid diet, and after ...
I will be returning to work Thursday, eating as a bander, so no item is too small ... please list all that you recommend.... thank you in advance!

I totally agree with Diane. They have great scallops when you get a bit further out. I get some of my vitamns there also. I get cottage cheese and strawberries too. I don't know what lap-banders rules are about what and what you can not eat, so take what I say with a grain of salt. Wishing you the best of luck.

I like to get the big bag of sting cheese. There is some protein in them, plus some calcium. It just seems to be one of those safe foods. Although, you did say your lactose intolerant, so maybe not the best item for you?
I recently bought a box of apple crisps, they come with 10 bags of apple crisps, and 10 bags of strawberry/banana chips. They are soooo yummy, practically melt in your mouth! One serving (a bag) of the apple crisps contains 1-1/2 apples!
I also buy my hamburger meat and chicken there. We are a family of 6, I don't know how big your family is, but its always easier to buy a bunch of the meats at once, and freeze them!
Of course for your liquid diet, you can buy soups, jus****ch the sodium.
I am sure you already know a lot of what I just typed, lol. Can you tell I still love to shop for food? lol

I love my RNY! Find me on myspace myspace.com/bebe_girl209 but be sure to tell me your from OH!
I love String Cheese and that is a pretty good deal there, especially since my daughters love it too, so I will need to amp that purchse up eventually. the apple crisps sound like a nice crunchy snack, I will add that to my list too.
We are a family of 4, we don't eat beef or pork (well my husband does a little but he can eat anything and keep a sixpack) . I want a deep freezer that is one of my next big purchases, great idea ... Thank you so much!

I get the Costco Premium Protein premixed drinks . . . 30 grams protein . .. (18 for $24) and don't taste that bad . . . I much prefer that to mixing . . because I'm basically lazy. I haven't actually done the "Greens to Go" . . . they are packets you put in water . . . like Chrystal Lite tubes . . . I'm lactose intolerant too . . .but they don't bother me . . . and I eat cheese sticks . . . and tuna and salmon and cottage cheese and salsa . . . I have to appologize because I don't know what stage you are at . . . I can eat part of a burger if it isn't to dry . . . but quite often have trouble with chicken no matter how moist. I get foot long subs with tuna, cheese and a few veggies, have them cut in in thirds and have that for lunch . . . but throw away the bread. I also do hard boiled eggs, throw out the yolks and fill with tuna . . .
Hope this helps a bit . .. I tried to read your profile, but it was marked private . . . if you have more questions, just give me a shout! (Realizing that I am NOT one of the fastest losers . .. so there are more people out there with better advice I'm sure!)

Hi Chris, I am in the liquid phase AGAIN! ughhh, I am so tired of flippin liquids, anywho .... I want to get some premixed for when I dont feel like mixing, so I will invest in some of those! The green to go sounds good and cheese doesnt bother me either!
I have head of banders who basically live off eggs, bu I ike your idea for variety, that is cool compact and easy, thank you!
Chris you may not be a fast loser in your opinion, but you have done a tremendoous job and you are working your tool, I really admire that.
