Thank you for responding Barb.

My surgeon told me 800 to 1000 calories per day was a good amount for me at my 6 month check up, but to be honest, I feel like I'm eating all the time to get that much in.  I'm going to get my protein and vitamins in and make sure I don't go OVER on calories, but I'm going to relax a little about eating that 1100 per day.

I am 5 months out and I don't count calories. I do protein first at all meals  and I eat about 5 times a day. I just make sure I get in all my supplements and protein ...there are of course days ...like today were nothing wants to go down and nothing looks or tastes good. But it will pass!!

Thank you Joy.  I always get my protein and vitamins in also.  I'm not going to worry about getting a certain number of calories in as everyone's suggested.  I'm going to go back to the way I ate before, meals and snacks without trying to meet a calorie goal.

Good idea!! I use FitDay.com just to keep track of my protein and a few other things that is offered on that program.

Janeene,
I would agree with what most have said.  I have been told by my NUT not to focus on calories.  Protein is the most important and I wonder if your getting enough protein.  I cant remember if you said between 50 and 80 but I would shoot for 80.  Also, if you are exercising you should make adjustments to your protein intake as well.
I have found if I am not getting enough protein in that my weight stalls.

Thank you Lola.  I always get at least 50 grams in but I think you're probably right and I really need to aim a bit higher, especially since I've started running and biking.

I so appreicate everyone's input.
