Acid Reflex

 I have Acid reflex and I need to know what I can do for it .

One word - Nexium!! I swear by the stuff. It is prescription only. I have been taking it for years and it is the only thing that helped me. I had tried all the others, priloc, prevacid, tums, mallox...you name it I have tried it. Talk to your Dr.

Pre-op, I had acid reflux and took Nexium "the little purple pill" - it worked great!

That was almost five years ago. Then, it was available by prescription - now I don't know.

Pre-op I took it regularly... post-op, I haven't had to take it once in over 4 1/2 years.

I see you're a recent post-op... I would call your doctor. And, I hope as you get further out from surgery, it goes away!

You need to contact your surgeon. Reflux is a common complaint after VBG (I'm assuming you had a VBG since I have no idea what a VGB is, although I thought most surgeons had stopped doing VBG's years ago due to their high failure rate).

You need to get a prescription for a PPI (Prevacid, Nexium, Prilosec, Protonix) and if the reflux continues you may need to have an EDG to check for issues in your esophagus and or stomach.

Prilosec and Preicid are available over the count.  All others are Rx only.  Call your doc, they have powder form that are Rx's that will help alot.
