Tell me about your Gallbladder?

I noted the lark issue and the poster referenced took rather It well I thought in her reply to me. As for you, Mr.,.... well, if resorting to name calling is your idea of support for pointing out a simple potential issue with not sourcing a site then you're hardly alone on this board. It's abundantly clear DS'rs are generally not welcome on the CA board regardless of thier efforts to be helpful and informative.

Seems we could all do with a little lightening up.

Seems to me I didn't call you a jerk, I said that you were acting like one.

There is a difference.

I didn't even realize what surgery you had, nor do I care.  I'm on OH to help support ANYONE who has had ANY weight loss surgery.  As I feel we ALL should.

I think all this childish bickering back and forth about DS, RNY, what the heck ever should just be freakin' dropped and we should all be here for each other, regardless of what surgery you've had, I've had, or anyone has had.

You had the DS and it's worked for you?  That's awesome.  I"ve had the RNY and it's worked like a charm for me.

We're all supposed to be mature adults here, not internet bullies or surgery snobs.

A jerk is a jerk whether it's someone who's had an RNY, DS, or someone who's on the outside looking in at us calling us all cheaters because we chose this path to be healthy.

Don't take that last line personally, it wasn't directed at you.  Like I said - I didn't say you were a jerk - I said you were acting like a jerk, and there is a difference.

This is the last you'll hear me say about this DS vs RNY debate, because I simply don't give a rat's ass which surgery anyone's had, as long as they're taking advantage of this tool and making it work.

I'm going to try to say this is the nicest way I can and hope you actually hear me.

I've seen your posts before.  I haven't seen you on here telling anyone "Good Job" or offering words of support or sincere advice in the majority of your posts.  In fact I rarely see you posting on here at all.  Your rare posts here seem to be ones that you've searched for in order to make a comment that's less than supportive.  You accused me of plagiarism.   You complain about "name calling" but you attacked me for no reason.

Look back through your posts and TRY to be honest with yourself.  See how the only replies or posts I've seen you make are to attack, argue and offer no support to people.  Try to honestly see that maybe you need to knock the chip off your shoulder and just talk with people here, support and be helpful.  That's all anyone wants.  Can you be honest with yourself like that?

Frankly, your criticisms pursuant to my lack of publicly posting here more, or for that matter to the many other OH forums  is a valid one. Time constraints and some personal issues in recent times have prevented me in doing so. Most of the support I try and stay current with is more behind the scenes in responding to the voluminous PM queries I get from unhappy sorts (mostly longer-term unhappy Lap band and RNY Post-Ops who are quite afraid to post here or elsewhere on OH, but hardly exclusively. Many queries are about what would seem on their face, the most  innocuous which often require detailed highly technical responses that would be lost or bore silly many of the general posters here. That said, I'm unsure how long you have been here, but I think you might be alarmed out how many PMs I receive from folks who are entirely intimated here on this board and that naturally from any group of close cohorts. Many having nothing to do with my surgery choice.

I have no need to defend my actions, nor, do I know how far back you went on my posts. I can say I have oftened occasioned  to be helpful to those presenting with a variety of issues having nothing to do with my surgery choice or thiers, ranging from normal to exotic medical sequella to computer issues and food recipes.

Do I parrot the sometimes misguided, unintended bad advice given here, or put forth the pervasive happy talk that is so often is seen here, notwithstanding, it serves no real purpose other then to give a temporal, temporary feel-good relief  having little to do with fact or reason. Just color me guilty as charged. I love giving support and encouragement, but not at the expense of reasoned replies in effort to paint pretty rainbowed allegories.

In my intial post, I thought I both acknowledged and complemented you in your suggesting the original poster seek medical care as sound advise. Was that INSUFFICIENT FOR YOU or that of your main squeeze and likely so many others here? Hmm? Should I have visited upon you, and others some link to a felicitous dance or song performed by yours truly for added support consistent with typical posters here and elsewhere.? Trust me, singing is NOT my forte and this would and should be percieved as quite appropriately hostile!

Nope. I'm only mildly sorry and even comfortable if you or others don't perceive me as being helpful, but I wonder how many midnight PMs you receive from heartbroken individuals who have suffered from inadequate information and/or downright disinginious nonsense from the well meaning here and elsewhere on this and other OH forums. And this is by no means is limited to lay people but many, many so called self- acknowledged professionals.

I just do what I can when and where I can. I'm sorry if it doesn't meet with your approval. I don't do cliques or specious happy talk that clearly would ill serve those I relate to and genuinely wish to try and help.

Thanks everyone.  I have been having a sharp piercing pain under my right rib cage and between the shoulder blade.  It has only happen a few times in the last few days and of course when I searched the internet it pointed to the gallbladder.  I will  continue to monitor it and mention it to my doctor when I see him.
Thanks again.

Could be other things, Lola, some more serious than an acute gallbladder. Get the workup.

Hi my angel Lola,

I on the other hand had NO pain with my gallbladder.  I was on a medical weight loss fast and had lost about 90 lbs and they did blood tests every month.  My Dr. said my liver enzymes were high and he said we're going to wait one more month and he put me on Actigal to see if it would change.  It did not change but got higher, so he ordered an ultra sound of my abdomin.   He said I was full of gallstones.  Who knew.  I went to see a surgeon, the next week it was gone laproscopically with no issues.  I was back to work 2 weeks later.

Please don't wait, call the doc and get things checked out.

Hugs and love,
Barb

To be honest....... Even if I need to get my gallbladder out it is not coming out until May.  I cannot and WILL not let them take it out.  LOL!  That would mean I have to stop training.

Yes I am as stubborn as a mule.

Lola, trust me when I say this...if you go into a full blown gall bladder attack, training or not you will beg them to rip it out anyway they can. Just a thought and I pray it does not happen to you!! Jus****ch your fat intake and that will help.

Joy,
Thanks for the heads up and I am sure you are right.  I have had no pain today at all.  I will make an appointment with my PCP and see what he says.
