weight loss
I just had surgery Dec. 20, 2008. I've lost 31lbs. I feel like I'm not going to be losing much more. I came to a stop, the past week or so even 2 weeks. Is that even possible? I'm hoping I'm eating right.
I was doing 2 protein drinks a day and a bit of soup or even beans w/cheese. Now I'm experimenting with baked chicken fillet cooked in broth, little bit of baked potato.
It's hard to keep track of every days menu, but I guess I should so I'll know exactly how much I'm eating.
I was just concerned because I'm not losing as fast the 2nd month?????
Any food Ideas?
Thanks for being here,

When I was about 3 weeks out I stalled for almost 2 weeks and the whoosh...I started losing again. So hag in there an d just food for thought I would stay away from the potatoes for now. You need to focus on getting full on your protein. But hang inthere and have you tried using www.fitday.com to keep track of what you are doing?

I had my surgery on 11-5---- and it seems like I "stall" every 10 #'s or so....a couple of weeks---and then I'll start to lose again...seems to be my pattern. I try to do thedailyplate.com or at least write down what I eat/drink. I figure slow and steady down beats the way I was going before!
I'd track my protein especially---and then up it a bit---see if that helps.
Best wishes..

NJO,
This is so normal. I stop all the time then bang 7lbs off. I know it does not make any sense but that is how it goes. Personally I would stay away from the potatoes for a whie and focus on protein and then protein and then some more protein. I would also write everything you eat down it is the best thing to do and then if you hit a stall you can see if you were eating right or if your body is just playing catch up with you. Good luck to you and stay focused youa re going to lose more than 31 lbs. I promise! lol

I thought that same thing, I lost 35 lbs my first month, I told some OH people that I figured I was done. They laughed and said "No you're not, just wait and see". They were right!
Sounds like you are eating right, and these things are called stalls. Your body is just catching up. Don't worry about it, you will just start to lose again. Just remember to try and get off as much weight at you can in your first you. It slows down after that. But you will be fine, and this won't be the last time it will happen either. Go buy a smaller size pair of pants and when you hit these "stalls" keep trying them on, you will be losing inches even with no pound loss.
Good luck, Diane

NJO,
I had surgery on Jan 8th and I have lost 22 lbs since surgery and I am only eating 500 calories per day. I am stalled! I was on Medifast for a while and lost 103 lbs and I remember losing 5 lbs one week and 2 the next or even a stall especially at that time of the month.
I diligently log my food on Fitday.com per my surgeon's request and it still happens.
During the 1st 3 months, your body is using a lot of your own body stores and things just stop and redistribute (at least that's what the Dr told me.)
Not to worry, we're become "bigger losers." The key is to not compare yourself with others and not to get impatient or give up. I thing Rhonda and Joy have good ideas, focus more on protein. I have been trying to do that this past few days. For sure it makes me fuller.
Hang in there, this is only temporary.
Hugs,
Barb

First off Congratulations!! WOW!!! 31lbs in one month, don't be so hard on yourself for not losing so fast during the second month. You have lost soo much weight in one month, you have to give your body a chance to catch up. Just remember when your not losing weight your are losing inches!! Remember protein, water, vitamins and exercise.
Keep up the good work,
Julie
