Belen,

I would keep calling your surgeons office, as each dr. has a different protocol.  They should have given you a manal or something that explains in great detail that surgeons protocol.  Always listen to your surgeon.

Hi Belen,

First, I would like to congratulate you on your date for surgery.
When are you scheduled for surgery?

I had to do a two week liquid diet, so for your 2 day liquid diet..just have enough broth...I had chicken, popsicles, crystal light, diet jello.  You'll do GREAT!!!

I also, stocked up with the same liquid's because after surgery I had was still on liquid's for 2 more weeks.  Stock up with all your vitamin’s and protein so you'll have it after surgery.

I hope this helps....

Good luck...Michele

Congratulations!! I am so excited for you. Everyone is right, stock up on your protein, sugar free jello, sf popsicles & vitamins. Don't forget to take your own pillow to the hospital!! That is what saved me from miserable nights, sleeping on my own pillow...

Best of Luck,

Yep what they all said, and your doctor will probably be giving you things or sending you info.  Just keep calling.  I had 2 weeks of liquids!  As far as after, I didn't have anything but liquids in the house.  I couldn't even watch the food channel and it was banned for months on the TV.  I got prepared according to my doctors order.

Good luck, Diane

Belen .. my Surgery date is now 16Feb.  But, I asked the same question.  No real responds.  I wanted people to share with me experiences they had before and after that are not in the text books.  Like ... Gas, lots of people talk about the gas after your surgery but, no one tells you how they handled it ... Should you stock up on Gas-X or not.  I wanted them to tell me stuff like ... "After my Surgery ... I wish I had gotten then and had it in my house"

We all know we should keep up on the protein and vitamins and of course do what our Doctor advises  .. But, I wanted to know which protein powders are best ... Which vitamins are  better in the being .. than others?   Which are easier to take.

Which are the better Broths ... sf/puddings ...

The pillow thing was helpful for me on this one.
So, If I hear of anything that maybe useful and/or insightful  I will pass it along.

Sorry I couldn't be more helpful.
