Well tomorrow is the final weigh in......Wish me luck

Well I am on the surgery schedule for this coming Friday. Check in at the hospital at 0930 and surgery scheduled for 1130. I have my last visit with Dr Suh on Thursday at 2:00 PM and pre register right after that at 3:30 at the hospital.

Spoke with his office today and they want me to come in tomorrow to weigh in prior to my appointment on Thursday. With this heat for the past few days I am so swollen with water retention it is nuts. I am not getting my hopes up now just because of this reason. The have postponed my surgery so many times now LOL I just cant get excited again.

Did Dr. Suh require you to lose a certain amount of weight before surgery and with water retention you might not have met this goal?  I can bring you some of my water pills!!  lol
Soda is a diuretic...maybe guzzle that down. Wait, you are a nurse, you should know that.

If you don't mind me asking, why have you postponed your surgery several times?

Hi Nancy,

I took some Lasix today and will take some before I go in tomorrow. Been getting rid of a lot of fluid tonight so hopefully that will help. Dr. Suh requested that I lose just ten pounds and have been at it for a while now. They postponed it because I havent lost the total amount. They know it is water retention as one occassion I went in one day and went back the next day after taking a diuretic and lost 4 1/2 pounds overnight.,

So they put me on a pure protein diet and the first week I lost 8 pounds, last week I went in and was swollen like a blow fish and only lost 1/2 a pound. So we will see what tomorrow brings.

Tomorrow is going to be a GREAT day for you.  Don't stress to much about it....just think this will be you're last weight in before your surgery.  Just a coupe more days.  I will keep you in my prayers.
