New to the site...Surgery Scheduled
Hi , my name is Stephanie and I just joined the site. I have my Gastric Bypass (RNY)scheduled with Dr. Coon on 3/10/09. I am nervous, scared and excited. I would love to hear from you with advice on what to expect ....I have so many emotions running thru me right now that I can not focus . Any advice would be greatly appreciated !!
Stephanie,
Welcome to the Cali board and congratulations on your upcoming surgery. I had surgery on Jan 8th and am doing just great, albeit thinking I am superwoman and hurting my back overdoing it on the exercise!
One of the things I felt very helpful was to read people's blogs as everyone has a different experience. It helped me to see that my nervous excitement was quite a normal thing.
One thing you will find is that the group on the Cali board is caring and honest and there is a wealth of information here.
Welcome again, we're glad you're here and we'll all be saving you a spot on the losers bench.

Hi Srephanie,
Welcome to the Cali Board. Congrats on your surgery date. We all have had the same feelings, but it is just beginning. Just you wait. I should have done this 10 years ago.
The people on this board are awesome. I just love to sit in the rafters and read everyones post.
Welcome - Welcome
Love,

Welcome and Congrats Stephanie!!!
All those emotions you are having are totally normal. I had the lapband surgery so I know they are a lot different in how you feel I'm sure, but I know you will get some great advice on this forum! You came to the right place!!!
Take care & just try to stay calm and read a lot to educate yourself as much as you can, so you'll know what to expect.....
I think that will help make you feel better.
Have a great evening, Jeni
