Bile Backing Up???

My friend's mom has to have surgery because there is bile backing up in ... her intestines, maybe? I couldn't get all the details, but they are saying she has pockets of bile. I've never heard of this before and am wondering if anyone knows anything about it. She had her gallbladder removed (not sure how long ago) and had RNY in July of 2007.

Lauren, I don't know anything about what your friend's mom is going through, but I just wanted you to know that I am sorry to hear about what your friend's mom is going through. It sounds pretty painful. I'm sending good vibes your way...

I had back up of bile with vomiting, postoperatively. It was due to a small bowel obstruction. Just my experience, not sure if it could be somthing similar or not.

Highest weight: 295 Pre-op:280 01/02/2009: 248
