Protein Drinks vs. Protein Powders
I bought a well thought of Whey protein powder that I NEVER could drink and threw away 3 days in! I also tried Isopure and HATED it! I eventually settled on my 20grm drink in the AM called AchievOne (which you can't get anymore until they finish their repackage drama---just saying that makes me cry I love that stuff) and I use my protein bullet (New Whey 42grm) which I now understand is too much protein at one time and needs to be split up. (check out the answers to my protein question posted yesterday--these guys gave GREAT info!)
Many people are able to get their protein from food, I just don't seem to be one of them. My plan includes supplements and I'm sure it always will. You need about 85-100 a day, so I thought I was getting 62 from the supplements. I will now split the 42 and use another to ensure I'm getting my protein! It is VITAL that you find a way! Just keep trying all the stuff till you find one you like! and you WILL find one! Good luck to you!
I had a really difficult time finding a protien drink that I could stomach. Before the surgery I really liked the Isopure, but after surgery it smelled and tasted different.
After trying 4 or 5 different brands I finally tried Jay Robb. I really like the Vanilla because you can add SF syrups too it without it being over whelming. I tried the chocolate for the first time this week and it was really good with a 1/4 cup of frozen unsweetened cherries blended in.
He has a website, but I was able to find the smaller sizes at a local vitamin shop. It definitely wasn't the cheapest brand in the store, but I knew the supplements after surgery could be costly.
