My Visit with the NUT
My visit went very well. I have 35# more to lose and we talked about my meals and choices and all that stuff. Everything went very well and I've been doing fantastic. However, we also talked about my recent 4# gain and then subsequent stall and I told her I figured out where it came from and from what and now that I identified the problem, I can eliminate it and hopefully get back on track.
I had started snacking. And the carbs had creeped up in my diet. A bite of pasta here and a cracker there leads to 3 or 4 bites of pasta or 4 or 5 or 6 crackers. The carb monster had taken a bite of me and wasn't letting go - in fact he was growing (like a big ole nasty fat-filled tumor).
Today I'm back to basics. Kind of a modified 5 day pouch test. I'm on protein shakes today and tomorrow along with some sugar free jello. For dinner I will have some broth and string cheese. Gotta purge the carb cravings. This should jump start my loosing again.
In other news............... they are closing the bariatric program here in Redding. Everyone is expecting their pink slips on Friday and the program will be closed down. The doc's can't move it to Mercy because in order to move it there they have to have 125 surgeries per month to be a Center of Excellence and they can't become a Center of Excellence until they start doing 125 surgeries a month. It's a catch-22. At least I made it through and am on my journey. I got my maintenance councelling done and we're good to go.
Back to work for me!
It kills me all these programs that are shutting down. You hear about it on the news everyday!

I am so glad that things are going so well.. I am gaining and stalling a lot lately, but know that it will get better, and when my Dr. lets me do exercise it will be even better..
Try to keep that carb monster at bay, the more carbs you eat, the more you are going to want..
Keep your head up, you are doing a great job..
Hugs,
