Just a quick update

Greetings all,

I just wanted to take a minute to thank everyone for all the well wishes and words of encouragement over the past several weeks.

All is going well so far.. I am 7 days post op, had my staples removed yesterday and was allowed to go on soft foods (eggs, cream of weat, backed fish, refried beans etc) and so far everything is working well. I only have tried the tuna, baked fish and cottage cheese so far and it is working great. Been doing 15 minutes 3x a day on my treadmill (SLOOOOOW walking LOL) with no issues and feeling better everyday.

The only bummer is that when I went into my post op appointment yesterday I had only lost 1 stinking pound for the whole week. Now how is this possible since all I have had is liquids LOL. I think Ol' Murphy stuck his mean old head in again.

Anyway, thanks again everyone I enjoy reading everyones posts and I will be here to help or encourage anyone that needs it as you guys did for me........

Have a great weekend............Rick

Rick,

Congratulations!! I am so happy you are feeling better. Don't worry about the weight loss. You may just have a little water weight but it will fall off. Before you know it your clothes will be so baggy!! Just take it easy and enjoy thr ride.

Cool deal on the 1 lb loss, it might not be what you wanted but its one less lb you have to lose. Your exercising sounds great. Keep up the good work.

Hi Rick,
Don't you worry, that weight will start falling off of you soon.  I lost up to 21 lbs. in first two weeks and then stalled for almost 3 weeks . I was so frustrated, and just when I thought, "Why did I do this?", I dropped 5 more lbs. and now I am 7 wks out and 40+ lbs. So try and be patient with this process.  I am learning more and more each day, especially thanks to this forum and all of the great Cali people, including you.   Thanks all,  Love  Donna

Rick,

give your body time to catch up before you know it you will be dropping pounds my the tub full, I know that all the water weight from surgery takes awhile to get out of our systems.

Rick,

I am so glad you are doing so well.  The main thing is that things are agreeing with you.  The weight will start shedding so not to worry.  Great about your efforts on the treadmill too.

Hang in there and keep up the great work.

You know, I posted earlier in the month that my first weight loss for that first week was only 4;5 lbs.  I was so bummed!  I agree.  How is it possible??  But then I was watching the biggest loser tv show and they kept stressing you must eat enough protein and it hit me.  I need to get my protein up to where it should be and that first week is sooooooooooooo hard to do that.  I know you are disappointed, but hang in there and hopefully we BOTH will start seeing the weight drop off.

Hey Rick,

Glad to hear you are doing well.

Sounds like you are doing everything you should be doing, even exercising...thats great! Don't worry about the one pound only, before you know it you'll be down 20, 30, 40 plus pounds! I have had 2 stalls already so don't freak out if you don't lose for 2 or 3 weeks. Then all of the sudden the weight just drops off.

Keep up the good work! Have a great Sunday!
