Hello,
Just wanted to say Hi to everyone.  I am new to the board- I am having lap band surgery on 2-23 by Dr. Leport.  Any words of wisdom and advice is welcome!
Also, I am traveling out of town 2 weeks after surgery- did anyone else have to travel this quickly after surgery?  I am concerned that it might be tricky.
thanks!

 Hello,

I didn't have Lap band surgery (RNY), but I wanted to say congratulations on your up coming surgery and welcome you to the Calif board,  Just think soon you'll be a looser!!!   If you haven't you may also want to post on the lap band forum, but I know some that are one here have had lap band.

Best of luck on the 23rd.....

Congratulations!!!! How exciting!!!!!!
Can't wait to see the skinny you!!!!
The only concerns i would have about traveling so soon after surgery, is food preparation. In the early stages you have a very strict special diet, and when you usually travel you get to be very spontaneous with where/when/&what you eat. Bust when you have a lap-band it may put extra stress on you when trying to find a place that serves food that you can actually consume!
-Also, many post op Lap-Band patients need a fill 2 weeks after surgery, so you might have an expanded appetite when your out of town and then there's not much you can do about it till you get back.

Thank god you're not getting RNY! Now that would be very very difficult!

I'm sure you'll figure it out! Good luck, and i hope you have fun on you're trip!
