Yep, you read that correct.  You usually do not see efficient and government office in the same thought, but this morning you are going to!

I currently receive state disability insurance.  Every so often your doctor has to re-verify your disability to continue to receive  benefits.  Wellllllll.......... I midplaced the form that needed to be completed by the doctor.  I have been yrying to reach someone to have the form replaced for over a month now.  Because of all the budget woes in California, the furloughs, etc., I have now been without a source of income for close to six weeks.  I owe everybody.

I have been trying unsuccessfully to straighten all of this out and get my disability started back up again.  It has been soooo frustrating, not being able to reach anyone.  Finally, this morning, after being on hold for almost one hour, I got a person to speak to.  I explained the situation and she hooked me right up with a number to fax everything and she is going to make sure it is all taken care of today so my income should start up again.  I am just6 so very thankful that I was able to reach someone who is willing to help.  I just wanted to share my good fortune.

Have a great week!!!

Yeah for speaking with a live person!!  I too got help like that in December.  I kept waiting and waiting for my disability payments to even start for my maternity leave and no check, no check, no check.  I got a hold of someone who stated they were waiting for a response from my employer.  She gave me a number to fax the response to.  After a week still nothing a lady I got a hold of was able to start my payments as I had my check stubs there to verify my sick time payment was all paid during my 1st week.  WHEW.  At last I was able to pay my bills!

I'm glad you got it all straightened out!

I work for a "government" office and we are pretty efficient  especially when our "clients" send all of the required documents in on time and filled out correctly.  For every client who doesn't submit their paper work we have alot more who do and we usually are busy processing that paperwork.  I always tell my clients....I know how important your benefits are for you, so please read/fill out and return, and/or keep all paper work from me  in a safe spot to ensure that no loss of benefits occur.  It is alot easier for us to continure benefits (if eligible) then to stop them and restart them.  We never ever hear from all the people that recieve their benefits timely...we only hear from the ones that don't.  So thanks for acknowledgement  of a fellow "state" employee.

Well I am off to enjoy the rest of my furlough day!!!
