xpost - Question for Southern CA sleevers

Note: I've cross-posted to the VSG board...

I live in Los Angeles and I've recently had a change in insurance...I've gone from Anthem HMO to their PPO.  Now instead of having to be "referred" to a surgeon, I guess I can simply pick one and "go for it." 

This of course opens up many more possibilities to research .  My question is who did you pick and why?

First check to see if your insurance will cover the sleeve, if not, what proceedure will they cover.

Also, the surgeon you pick depends on how knowledgable he is, his sensitivity to obese people, bedside manner, how often he has done that particular proceedure.

Anthem told me ok if medically necessary, and I know of other w/ the same insurance that got covered.  So now I'm searching for a surgeon and the real work begins...
