Better to get the wake up call now before it is really really too late.

I have a weekly sorter with both am and pm slots and every Sunday I sort out my vitamins and keep it in the kitchen on the counter right were I can see it (and my family can too)   Make it a family affair.  Give one of the kids the chore to remind MOM to take her vitamins.

I also keep a sorter in my purse so that if I'm off and running and forget my moring vits I can take them.

Everywhere I go I carry a bottle of water.  It's taken 5 months since my surger but now it's a wonderful habit.  If I forget, I feel horrible until I remember to take them.

Set your cell phone to remind you daily at 2 different times to take your vitamins.  You can set your calendar to remind you of an "appointment" on a reoccuring time

Set your computer so that when you turn it on you get a banner message that says "TAKE YOUR VITAMINS"

I have taken an anti-depressant for over 12 years now.  It is by far one of the best things I take.  It helps stabilize my mood and makes me more on an even kiel.  I took Zoloft for years and now I take Cymbalta.  It just helps elevate my Seritonin levels that affect my mood.  I also have a special light I turn on over my chair in the winter time and it gives me the good light vibes that help alleviate SAD - Seasional Affective Disorder.

There are so many people on this board that have come to love and appreciate you and want to do everything we can to help and encourage you to be healthy.  Do you need a morning and evening text message on your cell phone reminding you to take your vitamins?  If so, I'm there for you.  Let me know what I can do to help you make taking your vitamins and drinking your water into a wonderful healthy habit!

Maureen,

Thank you so much for that reply.. Reading it brought tears in my eyes..   It makes me so happy to know that there are so many people that I have touched in that way, and yet at the same time I feel like I have disappointed everyone..

I know that we all make mistakes, and all you can do is learn from them, but some how I feel this is one of those (slapping my forehead) DUH moments..  I am not sure why I thought slacking was okay just because I was early out, but what is done is done and I can't change the past.. All I can do now is focus on the future and move forward..

I thank you for giving me such great ideas. And as far as the testing, a reminder now and then wouldn't be a bad thing for a while, just to help get me started.. Like Jan said, once you have been doing it for a while it becomes second nature, but for now I will take all the help I can get..

Thank you so very much for being a good friend, and support to me.. I can't wait to meet you in person and give you the great big hug you deserve.. (Hopefully soon *wink*)

Lots of Love and BIG HUGS,
Jenn

Dang, Jenn...this is really serious!

I did not know that a vitamin deficiency of this severity could kick in after less than 2 months. WOW! I am sure Dr. Vierra knows his stuff but it sure seems more rapid than I was led to believe. But now you know what you have to do....and I know YOU CAN DO IT.  Any woman that can ride herd on FIVE kids can remember to take her vitamins!!!

Good lesson for all of us readers on OH. You are the bomb for sharing it with us. Thanks so much, Jenn, for just being YOU.

Now get better...no more passing out!

Me either hun..  Just please take my mistake and REMEMBER this for when you have your surgery. I would hate to see anyone else going through this. And the only thing that will come out of this that is good, is the fact that I can help others realize how serious this really is, and to tell them not to make my same mistake..

I am going to be on the ball now, and get them in everyday..  I will do my best not to pass out anymore, and I thank you for all your kind words..  You are a good friend..

Hugs to you,
Jenn

Hi Jenn,
My suggestion on taking your supplements. Calcium citrate and Multi Vitamin - Breakfast.
B-12 and Calcium citrate - Lunch.
Calcium Citrate and Multi Vitamin - Dinner.

I have not done Iron, my levels are real good.

Please take everyone's advice.

None of us want to see anything happen to you.

Hugs to you,

Thank goodness you were okay and didn't get hurt any further when you passed out!  Throughout my entire life I have been bad about taking vitamins and medicine but I found and all in one vitamin for wls patients, it's called Bariatric Fusion and while you have to chew 4 of them a day, it relly is easy to remember and they taste good.  If you email them, they will send you a free sample and the vitamins are not that expensive.  It might make it easier for you, of you just have to worry about taking one vitamin instead of several.  The B12 in it, is already broken down, so your body just has to absorb it and not digest it, so you get way more than normal.  When I asked the hospital nutritionist about it, she looked at the info and said it looked great.  Just a thought.  I have my 3 month fu the first week in March and I will let you know how my labs turn out.
Even with our lives being crazy we still need to focus on taking care of ourselves.  It's hard to do with a husband and family and especially with what you have been through but you gotta do it and I know you can  You have gotten this far....you can get yourself healthy and turn this around!

Thanks Charity, I know I can and WILL turn this around...

Thank you so much for sharing the Bariatric Fusion with me.. I will do some investigating tomorrow on-line and also talk with my Dr. to see how he feels about it.. ( I wouldn't want to do anything else that would upset him ) But  anything that will be easier for me by all means I am up for..

I am totally interested in how your labs come out, so definitely please keep me posted..

Thanks for being there for me, and helping out.. I really appreciate it..

Hugs,
Jenn
