I am only 4 days out and  already feel like I need alittle something more than liquids.  One person told me she tried alittle grits and cheese about 1 or 2ozs around the 4h day.  It really helped her.

Is there anyone else.  Just wondering. I have a horrible taste in my mouth.

Don't cheat.

Do what your doctor told you to do.

Add some additional flavors to what you can have, like a little soy sauce to your broth.

Horrible taste in mouth is normal. Ketosis.  Use some lysterine breath mint strips. They'll help and are SF.

Don't cheat!!

If you were told not to eat then don't eat!  Your body has had major surgery and needs time to heal correctly.

It's head hunger talking, go fix yourself another shake and don't eat!  You can do this!!!'

The horrible taste is ketosis, very normal thing.

Your insides are raw, healing and very fragile...you are taking a BIG RISK for a little bit of temporary satisfaction.    How about a sugar-free popsicle, chew on it, and let it melt before swallowing.
Now if you are going to win any battle you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do. The body will always give up. It is always tired in the morning, noon, and night. But the body is never tired if the mind is not tired."

Be strong.  I had a friend who thought, "how can it hurt?  a little bit of meat and sweet potato..."  She sat on the toilet, barfing into a trash can she held on her lap...get the picture?  Don't cheat, stay with your protocol that you doctor has set up for you.  Sugar free popsicles are great, refreshing treat for getting rid of that bad taste.  Good luck!!

Try swishing your mouth out with some sugar free flavored liquid that is allowed by your doctor.  Please don't give yourself permission to cheat at 4 days po cause you have a bad taste in your mouth.  Your health is worth following your doctor's rules.  You can do it - hang in there.
