Welcome to the OH family. Congrats on your date. If you have questions just post them. You'll get an answer from someone here. There are alot of experienced post-ops here. Good luck with your surgery and weight loss journey.

Hi Marcy...Thanks for the big welcome...just 1 question for now ..how do you get the name of your city to show up under your avatar...to the left of the messages?   I do have a bizzillion questions...but I'll wait for my pre-op class this Thursday instead of taking up space and time here :-)

Just click on *My Oh* in the blue bar. On the left side when you get there is tab things going down the left side. Click on *settings*, then under the *general tab* there are words, click on the one that says *contact*. Any other questions feel free to ask.

Congrats!!!

You are absolutely right about the unknown because that's all I kept thinking about.  Read my profile and you'll know what I'm talking about.  Yes there's always fear but today, RNY is practiced so often and top notch doctor's know exactly how to care for their patients.  If my insurance and group of surgeons believed in the surgery, I felt better and more confident that they knew exactly what they were doing....including me.

Best of luck!

Hi Gus!  Just finished reading your 'story'..WOW..what a journey!  I, too, have Kaiser but have not had to endure anything like what you went thru.  They did loose my first referral but after the 2nd one was sent, I heard from Kaiser Richmond within a week.  I started the 'process' in October 08 and from what I've been told, I've been on a 'fast-track', having to wait only 5 months for surgery.  Of course, I'm like you...March is still too far away...I wanted this done in January when I lost the pre-requist 10% LOL  Thanks for all your encouragement!

Welcome Aboard !

It is said that you must crawl before you can walk, Well my friend this is the place to learn to crawl. Once you have learned to walk, you find that these folks will be here to support you in-case you fall.

Ask all the questions you want, on this board, the RNY board, or the main board, someone will have the answer for you.

Take Care, & Good Luck
