lactose intollerance??

 So I have had diarrhea since I got home.  It is usually after I have a shake.  I called the doctor and he mentioned that I might now be lactose intollerant and to take lactaid before I eat.  It seems to help...a little.  This morning I had another bout.  Did anyone else have this?  Will it be forever???

It's amazing what the body does.....You'll be surprise. This may not happen all the time.

In the beginning, I was big time lactose intollerance.  TODAY? Ummmm....I can drink whole milk and nothing will happen.  I'll drink about a cup every other day and I don't have issues as like before.  Sometimes I'll hear the rumbling sound and sometimes I don't

With RNY, there's lots of trial and errors because you never know when things will not sit well...I've experienced that even up to today!

I did for 2 days, but I had Lap-Band surgery.  Hope you are doing better soon.  You are in my Prayers.

I think it's pretty normal. I had it too, then I thought about it. All you are having is liquids, so maybe that is why the diarrhea. Mine went away when I started eating solid foods. Don't worry, your body is going through some tough recovery.

I don't get the diarrhea, but I do notice that sometimes when i drink milk it hurts my little pouch, and others it is fine..

I sure hope it doesn't last forever..  Good Luck hun.

Everytime i drink a shake i have diarrhea, and i but the ready made ones with soy....i think its just the all liquid thing. Who know, my little pouchy is a brat....lol

 Thank you for the replies!! I am so worried that I will never be able to go out in public! It has gotten a little better, but I am hoping getting off all liquids in a couple weeks will help!
