OT - Fried 'puter . . . not a happy camper . . .

Just a short note . . . my home computer is fried . . . I'll bring it in to see if my IT guy can do anything before we wipe it . . . BUT . . . I don't have a backup file . . . (don't yell at me!!!) . . . I know we lost 3,005, plus last week's amount . . . which I don't have time to look up at the moment . . .

Barb . . . can I ask you to take over????  I would say just use the base number, check last week's loss . . . and do a weekly tally.  I'm sorry I don't have the spreadsheet so we could give everyone their numbers for the year (should they want them).  I do have an ANCIENT copy of the spreadsheet here at work . . . but way back from the beginning of the year . . .

Let me know if you can do this . . . maybe we'll be able to save the file . . .but at this point . . . not so sure about that . . .

Oh Chris!

What a mess!  I hate that when that happens.  I am not good with spradsheets but if Barb can't do it, I will give it a try.  I will send good moJO for your computer to recover!  but sometimes those things get terminal.  Condolances to your computer if that is the case.

No worries, I have the spreadsheet and will go back and see if I can pick up from when you went to Seattle.  No problem, we'll get it together.  I am happy to do it and will keep it going until you're ready to have it back.  I could never let the Boobie Bandit down or the rest of our Cal friends.  I got you covered my friend.

that is great of you my friend . . . and a MAJOR lot of work to do it that way . . . if there is an interest for people to know what they did . . . that's cool . . . BUT most people know what they did in the year anyway . . . i'd just use that, make a bogus line to add in the weight between then and now . . . and pick up from there . . . hoping my IT guy will look at my machine today . . .if it's terminal . . . I'm just flatass SOL cause there ain't no way to get a new one :(

Happened to me on Nov. 7. Went to Best Buy the next day and even though hard drive was fried they were able to pull data from the disk and install on new computer for $100.  Now I have new laptop and new printer/copier/scanner and all my pictures, video and music got transferred... which I will manually back up as soon as I go to store and buy blank CDs.

Tahnks Barb for taking over for this.  I was here sweating trying to figure out how the heck I was going to be able to do that as I don't know a spread sheet from potatoe salad.  You are an amazing gal! Thanks a bunch!

I was able to go back to the last time I took over when you were in Seattle and plug in the numbers each week since then, so we have a good back-up copy.  I'll keep it going until you're back up and running on all cylinders!
