Question to the oldtimers about their first Post Op Thanksgiving
Got ya both beat...... mine was spent in the hospital with a tube up my nose! Now that's hot! Ice chips and a obnoxious roommie. How fun!
Leslie............... remember the long-term goal! Healthy you. Easier to move, easier to breathe, lookin smokin' hot and feeling even better. You will get there! Enjoy the family. Enjoy the friends and just enjoy the day. Food is secondary and has to become not our main focus.
Puree your foods. Put them on a plate in separate sections and sit and eat a regular meal with everyone else.
Enjoy -- MoMo

For my first post-op thanksgiving, I was able to eat a few bites of turkey, 2 bites of green bean casserole and 1 bite of mashed potatoes. I tried to eat a sliver of pumpkin pie later in the day but I was still full from dinner and it made me very uncomfortable.
I didn't really mind because I wasn't really hungry but I don't like sticking out and I definitely stuck out.

Let's see, I was a couple of months out and could eat solids. I had 2 oz of Turkey, a spoonful of dressing (Really don't like potatoes that much), and whatever the veggie was. I was with my family and they were so thrilled about the weight I had already lost that they let me do whatever I wanted food wise without criticism. In fact my sister wanted to know if I needed anything cooked special. Got to love my family. This year I am in LA, no family, no T-Day dinner. Should be easy to stay on track.

I wish I would have read this thread yesterday. I went on a melt down yesterday. I don't have any idea what happened. It was just four of us for dinner but I couldn't stop crying. I am almost 7 months out and have never missed the food for the most part. I am much better today but I think my boyfriend was about ready to admit me yesterday-poor guy. Hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving.
