MsBlues at 6 months
Hi all,
Yesterday marked 6 months since I've had my WLS surgery. I thought doing an inventory on what has happened since then would be a good way for me to note my progress and be grateful for this tool I have.
-I have gone from administering 30 units of lantus insulin twice per day(60 total) to 25 units once per day
-My A1c level has gone from a high of 10 to 6.3
-I am no longer on any oral medication for diabetes
-I am taking half the amount of blood pressure medication
-I have lost 84 pounds
-I have gone from a 6X to a 3X/4X (depends on the style) for my tops
-I have gone from a 22/24 to a 14/16 in elastic stretchy pants and 18 for all other pants
-I no longer require a wide shoe. I am a "regular" now
-My triglycerides went from a high of 500 to 157
-My wedding ring flies off my finger. I have to wear it on my middle finger.
-I rarely have any problem or almost never feel deprived when I pass on anything with sugar
-I walked around San Francisco for the past 2 days and didn't lose my breath once even going up hills!!!!!!
Challenges
-My iron keeps dropping despite increasing my dosage amount. I am working on this with my doctor
-I am vitamin D deficient.
-I beat myself up unmercifully and think despite the list above, I should be doing better
-I wish often I had more time to exercise, but I still manage 3-4 times per week
-I have a strong inner muncher I have to negotiate and battle with every day, sometimes every minute. I sometimes give it a quick kick in the a**, but other days I drink lots of tea and sometimes snack to placate it.

you are doing a wonderful job! Think if you did not have surgery, could you of walked the street of SF? I think not...also your A1C is going down and triglycerides! This is the way to a better and healthier life!! You should celebrate your success and keep working that tool!
Great Job!!!
