Wowee in Maui

Aloha! I'm on vacation in Maui, I hope everyone had a great holiday...I know I did. I'm having a great time this week and today I got to cross another item off my WLS Bucket List....I learned how to surf!

I grew up my whole life in So Cal and spent a lot of my high school years at the beach watching other kids surf. Never in my life did I think I would have the guts to go out there are try it for myself. But where else would be a better place to learn than Hawaii?

I was so excited, and a little scared once the waves begin to give you momentum the board just pushes you along the water like nothing....and once you make the hop up to your feet it really does feel like flying...it was amazing. It didn't matter that my body wasn't perfect, I may never have thighs like a swimsuit model..but so what?! I'm living! I'm surfing!!

you go girl!  I am jealous of you!  I want to go there someday, may have to book it with girlfriends as my hubby is adamant he doesn't want to go.

Oh come! You have to do it, heck I'd go with you! You know, they don't allow guns on the plane though. You'd have to leave the rifle at home. :D

Hope you're having a lot of fun in Maui.  It's such a great place, you'll never want to come home.  Don't forget the drive to Hana if you have the time and if you do, ask your hotel or rental car company for the CD to take with you, it's great.  Also the drive up to Haleakala Crater is worth the views if you go early.

Monica...that picture is Priceless!!  Congratulations on another 'item' off your Bucket List.

Another place to visit, in addition to what Barb offered...head for the Pinapple Winery just north of the airport...fantastic wines and jellies.  Also a neat little cafe where you can order 'buffalo' bugers...but I recommend the turkey sandwich...after seeing the steer they use for meat..well, they are HUGE!! LOL

Hope you continue to have a great Adventure in Maui...Lon has promised that we will be going back! ;-)
