Alrighty I need advise
But I have been trying for the last two and a half weeks to lose 1.8 pounds to bring my loss to a full 40 pounds since starting options.
ITS driving me CRAZY!!!! Who knew 1.8 would fight so hard? Ok so I have done all I know how to do since we are all pre-op and your after surgery diet would put us in starvation mode and then I wont lose anything.
So go any tips for someone who is waiting for surgery?? Please...
Maybe drink more water and switch up your exercise routine. Sometimes the body gets used to the same routine so if we shake it up a bit, it most often helps boost the metabolism. Good luck and congrats for going through the Options program.

We could learn a lot from crayons:
some are sharp, some are pretty,
some are dull, some have weird names,
& all are different colors....but they
ALL exist very nicely in the same box.

I know you want to lose the additional 1.8 pounds, and sometimes our bodies don't want to cooperate. It could just be stress holding onto the extra pound. You have done an awesome job in losing the 38.2 pounds that you have lost! Celebrate that! And you did with Thanksgiving, to boot!! That is so fantastic! You have the willpower! When you least expect it, that 1.8 pds will be gone. Especially at the pace you have been going pre-op! You have done such an achievement with your loss, so far.
You made a good point about not wanting to put your body into starvation mode. So maybe, now is time to back up slightly, take a breath don't go back into old habits, but allow your body to get used to itself. Stay away from the scale, use it only on classroom nights. Don't worry about the 1.8 pounds. And watch within the 2 weeks that you have of class --- abbacadabbra, I bet you will meet your goal. Stress does some funny things to our bodies, pre and post op. Good luck! I am here if you want to chat.
Hugs,
Michelle
Hi Katrina,
You have done really, really great with your weight loss so far!!! I think I had lost about 38 lbs by the time the Options classes were over and by the time I had my surgery I was down 43 lbs and my surgeon said that most people struggle to lose 10 lbs during the classes.
As for any suggesstions, I'll just go over the usual checklist...
**Drink lots of water - 64 oz ++ (much easier pre-op)
**Keep sodium low
**Cut out junk carbs if you haven't already
**Eat plenty of protein
**If its your TOM there could be water retention
Try not to stress out too much over 1.8 lbs because it will come off!!!!

Thanks Terry I have really loved my classes and I fought a few rough times to make sure I made each meeting. For the month of Dec we have class every week normally we are every other week. As for exercise I can only get some in when another person is willing to walk or go with me. I was in a car accident with some neck and brain injuries that my DR still does not want me alone out walking or something. They didnt want me to drive my car either and I can understand but I have to get to work some how right?
Maybe I will bribe my hubby to walk with me or my son. I would love to get back into my program.
Hey there Michelle THANKS so much for the kind words. If if... IF Santa will let me I would love to have lost 45-50 pounds before surgery. IF not then I am thrilled with my loss so far I am the only one in class that I know of to meet our 10% loss.
Jean wow 43 by surgery thats amazing can I follow your lead? LOL I am trying so hard I try to get my water in I normally get about 7 glasses in and our dietician (sp) said not everyone needs 8 glasses some like herself only need 5.5 or 6.
Protien I am getting better with, I drink Isopure once aday and get 40 in there, then its tuna or chicken for the rest of it.
I dont drink with any food, and I have done the best I can to cut carbs. Its not easy I loves me some bread... but The max I have of bread is two slices for a sandwich once or twice a week.
But all tips are welcome and I will add as many as I can to lose my 1.8 and or more....
